Here's a breath of fresh air: A single-player competition.

As revealed at Ubisoft's website , the first single-player event for Assassin's Creed III has begun. It's called "Leave No Witnesses," and you must kill as many enemies as possible when playing the campaign. Top scorers will nab a Season Pass, which is worth $30.

If you're already done with the story, you can replay the game and do all the side quests if you want to participate in the event. In addition to top scorers on each platform (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC) getting that DLC Season Pass, Ubisoft will also hand out a Pass to one random competitor. If you're interested, you can go here and sign up; if not, at least it's refreshing to know that some competitions out there don't require us to be online. Maybe more publishers will try this type of thing in the future.

We're also hoping future events will be a bit more imaginative. Kill everything in sight isn't exactly the "assassin's creed," now is it?
