There were always rumors and speculation concerning the possibility of a Killzone beta for the PS3, and while there have been hints of confirmation, we never really had anything concrete. Well, this is the month for beta news, apparently, so announcements in this category are no longer surprising.
According to a post in the official Killzone forums, Seb "motherH" Downie of Guerilla Games has officially confirmed the existence of a public beta for the upcoming PS3 FPS, Killzone . Of course, he didn't say when, but that's par for the course with betas. The quote reads as follows:
"Of course there is going to be a public beta, I have always said that any game that has an online mode needs to go through a public beta to ensure it works as intended."
Yeah, we've heard that philosophy before, too. But in order to excite fans, we're gonna need – at the very least – an estimated release for this supposed "public" beta. It sounds like a great idea. After all, we've been dealing with all these frustrating closed betas (PlayStation Home and Warhawk , for example), so an open beta would be a breath of fresh air. And hey, who else can't wait to get a look at this game? It'll dispel some of the mystery, that's for damn sure.
Hopefully, more info on a Killzone PS3 beta will arrive soon.
