The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was one of the best games of 2011. In fact, it's one of the best titles of the entire generation.

But if you missed out, you might be interested in the upcoming Premium Edition. According to Examiner.com citing Amazon.de , such an Edition is indeed coming.

It isn't official yet, but it seems that in addition to the award-winning RPG, purchasers will get a map, emblem t-shirt, "The Infernal City: An Elder Scrolls Novel," six concept art postcards, a 600-page strategy guide e-book, and a bonus disc that features behind-the-scenes content, trailers, walkthroughs, and even five songs. It's listed with a price tag of 59.99 Euros, which comes to about $78, and that isn't too bad of a deal. We just hope the PS3 version of this Premium Edition will be fixed ; i.e., clear of the severe game-ending issue(s) that plagued the initial release of Skyrim on Sony's console.

The release date says December 7 so hopefully, this will be available around the world by Christmas. But just for the record, and e-book is not a book . It really, really isn't.

Entire generation?

I sure don't think so. The simple fact that Bugthesda sent out 360 copies only should disprove that.

If that isn't good enough of a reason, perhaps certain DLC-not-coming-to-the-PS3 will work as evidence.

The game itself, if you leave the platforms be and just consider the game for what it is, it is one of the best of the generation. Ben is absolutely right in saying so.

That one version of this game, for one particular platform had troubles doesn't change this fact. It is an amazing game, and it runs like it should on the other platforms.

Sorry Beamboom, but that logic is incredibly flawed. I should not have to throw the PS3 version under the rug so that Skyrim is viewed as the "best".

As an exclusive PS3 user when it comes to my gaming, I took offense to Bethesda's effort on the PS3.

There is no excuse that the PS3's version of Skyrim runs like it does when games such as Uncharted are near perfect.

They should lower the price for Ps3 owners by 75%. If they fixed it ofcourse.

Let's hope the "Premium Edition" replaces the "PowerPoint Edition (a.k.a. crippling framerate drop Edition)" we got before.

It would be quite embarrassing if it was the same game, without any improvements.

I bought the first one. Played its buggy ass for two days and traded it in for Amalur. Might be the best video game trade in I've ever done.

No more broken games for me!

Amular is one game I wish I didn't have to pass on. I will get it one day.

But I would never trade Skyrim for it. Being as far into Skyrim as I am, you're missing out.

I understand where you're coming from though!

Amalur is still on the market – all you pass on by waiting with getting it is a higher price, Big. ūüôā

Amalur is a fun game and a nice way to calm the rpg itch while waiting for other, better RPGs, I'd say it's worth it at a bargain. I did overreact by buying it at full price though. I should have waited.

That's a bit of an insult to PS3 gamers isn't it?

That's disappointing. When I saw the headline, I got really excited that it'd be a GotY version that includes all the previously released DLC. Instead, it's a lousy tshirt, concept art, and behind the scenes crap that does nothing to enhance or add to the gameplay experience. Disappointing.

hahaha the shirt should say " I survived the PS3 version of Skyrim and all i got was this lousy t-shirt"

I would be very surprised if the ps3 version is fixed. Bethesda has a habit of re-releasing games without any fixes just some cheap junk that they think will entice people to buy their broken crap.

Don't get me wrong, love their games, but I'll never buy another one on ps3 now that I have a computer that can play them.

Interesting, but not for me. I hope at some point there is a GOTY edition with all the dlc PS3 owners havnt gotten and that would be nice.

E-books are not books, I agree with that.

You may not consider it a book but it serves my purpose. I read almost all my books from my kindle and I guarantee I am getting the same out of a novel that someone that has the hardback copy is getting. That's what matters to me.

Fair enough. My grandparents just got a Kindle Fire. It's actually really cool. So I won't argue for or against it. Either way as you said it's serving it's purpose!

If it is fixed it will be released as a patch for all Skyrim owners.

But if it was true that Sony stepped in to fix the problems and obviously not even their engineers were able to solve the challenges, it should indicate that the problems in fitting Skyrim into the PS3 are pretty overwhelming to say the least – probably in all practical terms next to impossible.

Ergo, by now I think it's fair to say that there likely never will be any Skyrim DLCs for the PS3 version.

And that sucks hayballs, cause I really liked the content of that last DLC.

Premium edition without actually adding anything to the base game, especially when it's coming a year and two expansion packs later? If this is a joke, I'm not laughing.

I assume the only reason there are no DLC included is in order to be able to release this for the PS3 too.
I would guess owners of other platforms is fairly pissed about this. I know I would be.

premium edition, which knowing bugthesda and judging off previous "GOTY" editions, also 25% more bugs!
i remember picking up the GOTY edition for fallout 3 and had more crashing issues with that than my original fallout 3 copy!
really need to get back into this though, especially all the amazing mods available for it on PC really puts it into its own world!
sigh, too many games not enough time!

Isn't this kind of stuff suppose to be release on day 1?

I mean, after a year, they should have a GOTY edition.

What the hell Bethesda?

Well, it actually is one of the generations best games whether people like it or not. I loved it and it had a few bugs, but nothing crippling or breaking for me. In a game so large I expected some problems. Having said that, as much as I enjoyed it, I really wish they got their heads out of their asses and were able to give us the DLC for PS3. I am not planning on picking up a different copy just to see the DLC though. The funny thing is, this does seem like a slap in ps3 owners face. I really think they should hold off on any "special editions" until they sort out the DLC. AT that point, I might purchase it again! But not for a t-shirt and some other baubles that they're trying to give in place of actual content.

Actually Skyrim damaged my 80 Gb backwards compatible console to the point where I had to get it repaired. It's a fun game don't get me wrong, but Bethesda is just a lousy company that doesn't deem it worth to fix or patch much for us ps3 owners. I wonder if this release will come stateside with the DLC???
