Initially, the Mechromancer DLC for Borderlands 2 was set for October 16, which is one week from today.
But some fans have noticed that in fact, the new class is available to download today. In fact, it's available for all platforms and Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford confirmed that it ain't no mistake :
"So – here's the surprise, Mechromancer for Borderlands 2 is ready about a week earlier than I promised. Oct 9, all platforms. Woo!"
If you pre-ordered the game, you'll be able to grab this extra content for no extra charge. If you didn't, it'll cost you $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points to give the interesting new class a try. Gaige the Mechromancer has the potential to be crazy powerful, as she can summon a huge robot to do her bidding (as seen in the pic here). As she progresses, she'll be able to nail enemies with nasty negative status effects, and she'll also be able to buff up other players as well.
If you want to test out her advancement ahead of time, head over to that awesomely convenient skill tree test at the game's official website. That's a feature we need for any and all games with skill trees for characters.
