With the Mass Effect trilogy complete, BioWare can now focus its full attention on their other epic role-playing franchise. Yup, that one.

We knew this was coming but it's nice to get the baseline information. As revealed at the developer's website , executive producer Mark Darrah revealed Dragon Age III: Inquisition .

He didn't list the targeted platforms, and some of the more optimistic are thinking that the third Dragon Age iteration might be targeting next-generation consoles. And as the project is slated to arrive towards the end of 2013, that might be possible. But in the meantime, we know the following: Inquisition utilizes an all-new engine (using DICE's Frostbite 2 as a foundation), which will allow the designers to produce a larger world with "more reactivity" to player choices and deeper customization options.

Darrah also noted that the same team responsible for the first Dragon Age is on board for the third title. Oh, and also, fan feedback has apparently been a critical part of the game's development, so that's good news. Let me fully equip my allies this time, BioWare. Thanks.

Good to hear about the engine update, DAII was a visual downgrade. Plus it really needs a big world after we got confined to a single city for a whole game. High hopes anyway.

Yea it was a big downgrade. Oh man that single city was a huge step backwards. Kinda reminded me of those side missions in ME1 which all looked the same with minor changes.

Agreed. I really hope this one tops the others. DAII was disappointing in my opinion. I felt like I was just doing the same thing over and over again. The dungeons all felt and looked the same, which feels kind of lazy to me. "Let's re-use this map, but close off this passage this time and open this one."

Should probably get around to cracking the case on Origins properly at some point. Colour me mildly interested.

I'm ready as can be. It will be extremely interesting to see what they get out of this engine.

And I hope hope HOPE it is for the next gen consoles. It would be wonderful to have a Bioware RPG waiting for me with the PS4.

I for one am really eager to see the third game (hopefully) take from 'Origins' and 'II' equally, as 'Origins' is still one of my favorite games and the sequel is technically better, but obviously had some design choices that didn't sit right with a lot of us.
Something I really hope the third game does is have some kind of consequence for choices from 'Origins' that didn't have any impact on 'II.'

Looking forward to it…I had a blast with the first one and have yet to open the second, but I have a feeling I will like it and the third when it comes out.
