Oooh, nice deal. I may buy this just for the HD Killzone.

Ben, kinda off topic…do you know if God of War III is remastered to support 3D in the God of War Saga? I was looking at the box at Best Buy. It says it is on the back of the box but when I read the announcement on the PS Blog they had crossed that portion out. Did they just make a mistake when printing the box?

Apologies in advance if you have already covered this.

Yeah it was a mistake. The GoW Origins Collection is the only thing that is in 3D

OHHH, I want!

I'd also like to see a future KZ done playing only as Helghast, with the whole storyline pertaining to the very beginnings of their history and up to their present timeline.

A question for those that have played it… How much single player fun can be had with Killzone?

Haven't played the first one so I don't know but you can have some pretty sizable campaign modes in 2 & 3, I think they took me about 8 hours. Also 2 & 3 have bot modes where you essentially play the multiplayer maps but with bots so you can keep annoying human beings away from your favorite hobby 🙂

Highlander, I enjoyed the SP modes in all 3 of them, but I might not be the best judge of them because as my ex used to tell me…
"I'm easy"

BTW, KZ3 was my first….
& only game that I actually did & loved the MP mode play too.

I'd had a lot of fun with both KZ2 and 3's single player. Well worth it IMO.

Thanks guys, as much as I criticize games like CoD, I do like action games and shooters. I loved Vanquish and of course Uncharted is not exactly a platformer… But the multi-player competitive experience is not one I enjoy. So I am happy that the solo play sounds as rich as it does, I'll have to pick this collection up.

Killzone 2 and 3 have the best shooter campaigns I've ever played along with RAGE, Red Faction and Medal of Honor: Frontline. Singularity is up there, too.

Personally I think both Resistance and Crysis offer better campaigns, if you haven't already played those. I think especially R3 may be something you'll dig. Should be experienced.

Resistance 3 and F.3.A.R. (FEAR 3) have some of my favorite campaigns.

Forgot about Resistance and Crysis. Resistance is ALWAYS bad-ass and while I didn't care much about the first Crysis, the second was awesome.

Killzone 2 is immensly fun to play, with a unqiue shooter experiance and the absolute best looking visuals in the FPS genre. However, this applies only once you get into it; at first, you might think the gunplay is slow and not very responsive, and that the mission structure is somewhat samey (read: kill everything). But if you allow yourself to get engrossed in the atmosphere – which is fairly easy because it IS so engrossing – and adapt to the 'slow' gunplay, you'll experiance one of the best games of the generation.

One of the things that was very memorable from KZ2, for me atleast, was that you felt as though you were actually in a war, with all the chaos that would ensue. KZ3 on the otherhand, didn't give me the same sensation. It's essentially the same game alright – with an even better rendering engine and more variety in the mission structure – but yeah, something felt amiss to me. Almost like they tried to make it more like a hollywood blockbuster.

But nonetheless, if you say you're a shooter/action fan, you really oughta play the two latter titles in this collection. I can't comment on Killzone 1, but if that turns out to be crappy, $40 for the latter two isn't exactly a bad deal. You should really try out the multiplayer though; if you like the sensation of being in a war in KZ2, it's even more impressive with 32 players battling it out. KZ3 online is a bit more COD-like, but I found it fun anywho.

By the way, there's SP demos for both KZ2 and KZ3 if you wanna try them out. You'll see what I'm talking about in regards to being in a war. KZ3 multiplayer is F2P aswell.

Great idea. I would defiantly buy that. You need to contact Gerrilla Games and pitch your idea.

I've played too many FPS games in my time to count. And yes, I played all the way through the original Wolfenstein 3D when it was STILL new. Strange thing though about these games, I pretty much only really care to play what's current as they all pretty much feel recycled to me geneatation after generation. The ones with the best graphics and general design are what i go for most, and the more tactical the better. But ultimately I come for cheap thrills and kills.
Half Life 2 and a couple Halo's are an exception. They're always cool.

If you haven't played the first Bioshock that is my all time favourite single player shooter? I don't know if you could call it a shooter I mean its first person and you have guns but there is just so much more to it than that.

But you most likely have and all the suggestions here are good. KZ1-3 all have pretty good campaigns although story wise they can leave a bit to be desired. But action and set piece wise they are rarely matched.

Resistance 3 was IMO the most underated shooter of last year.

Xenris,
Oh boy, yeah Bioshock is my all time favourite too, how could not anyone mention that title.

But it's true as you say, I don't think of it as a shooter cause it's just so much more to it than that. It's an experience like no other.

And CoD sells millions of copies because of some broken online mode. smh

These collections and trilogies are just a fantastic idea. When PS4 releases and PS3 drops in price again then PS3 sales will surge as PS2 sales once did and gamers will be able to afford these collections AND be introduced to the latest hottest franchises so that excitement and joy will cause them to get a PS4 whenever possible and then Sony will have more strong supporters for the next generation.

Now that's what I call upward social mobility.

Killzone 1 was horrible. I'd rather not play it again lol.

Then again, my brother owns Killzone 2 and 3 so I don't even need to purchase this.

Never loved KZ2 — the weighted controls drove me nuts, I didn't love that my enemies were human (or human-esque, at least), and the voice acting was beyond terrible. I enjoyed the KZ3 demo I played a while back though, and I generally like the KZ universe. Perhaps I'll get part 3 on clearance now that this collection is coming out.

I always sort of wanted to play through the "Halo killer" Killzone. All of these HD collections all in one box is lucrative. I could save some good shelf space if I replaced my stand alone titles for these. But alas, I could also just place all of my discs in sleeves as well and ditch the cases. I dunno. Anyhow, I like the idea of KZ HD. I suspect GTA has an HD re-release coming down the pipeline as well.

I tried KZ2 and KZ3 the other day again. I do wish they would've kept the film grain, gritty look of KZ2. Oh well. I suppose it's another one of those sad circumstances where devs gave in to popular opinion over their own creativity.

I wish the freedom of KZ2 had stayed with KZ3, it was clear they narrowed your strategic approach to battles for the Move.

I couldn't really tell. But in retrospect it seems KZ2 had more of those wander around to a nav point like levels. Like the dusty one and the nuclear fallout part with the red sky and control towers. But idk. I personally preferred having more abilities in KZ3, like slide to cover and cool melee death kill moves. I just think the art direction in KZ3 can sometimes be ugly or not as well executed. KZ2 felt more distinct to me. I also liked its more gritty brown vibe. It fit the repressed war torn feel, not everything needs to be rainbows and loli pops.

Thanks.

I enjoyed KZ2 and 3 so much. If I know better I would have not bought them and waited for this one. It would have made for one long FPS playthrough.

Maybe this has already been asked, if so sorry, but is the KZ2 multiplayer still up or will this bring it back?

Okay so this is really off topic however I am already in the Dust514 beta and I just got sent an all access beta key. If anyone wants this just reply to this and I'll give it to the first person most likely.

However I want to know that you are going to play it so if your not interested in the game at all don't reply. Also it is really early beta and there are some issues, however the NDA is in place so please don't go trashing the game.

I really enjoyed playing through the original Killzone earlier this year, but with a B/C PS3 and all three games already in my collection, I'll have to pass on this. Still, a pretty solid deal as each game has moments that really are awesome. I'll be in the minority here, but I believe that the second was the least enjoyable. The others just had better stories.

The PS2 release had framerate issues, but I'm fairly sure that if they went through the effort of HD-ing (I like to make new words :p), they'd sort the framerate out too. Reviews will point it out anyway.

Wonder if the multiplayer of Killzone 1 would be included, that was the main reason I enjoyed it on PS2. Though the single-player wasn't that bad, it felt awesome being part of a four-unforgetable team taking out a whole army every level.

I already own 2 & 3, so unless the HD upgrade of Killzone includes multiplayer, I'd have to sit this one out.

I think I may be buying this. I never played the first Killzone and enjoyed 2 & 3. So why not just have them all in one nice package. I can also go through and work on the plats again. Never did get them yet and don't have the games anymore.

My hope is that with this release the online Killzone will be populated again. Last time I played KZ3 online back in december there was only like 21,000 people online across the whole world.
