Two things: 1. We've been hyping Dishonored ever since we saw it; we're convinced it will rule the school. 2. Bethesda has basically treated PS3 owners like sh** this generation.

The fact that the PS3 versions of their games are buggy as hell isn't news. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim suffered from a disastrous glitch that we didn't find out about until after playing for a while, and downloadable content is often late in coming to Sony's platform and again, it's often glitchy. Bethesda has had to work closely with Sony just to get the latest piece of DLC, Dawnguard, to work properly on the PS3.

I've said my piece on this before and I won't be changing my stance. However, if Arkane Studios can deliver a solid experience on the PS3, I'll take back some of the things I've said about Bethesda. According to what studio boss Pete Hines told a concerned gamer on Twitter (as cited by NowGamer ), they may have learned their lesson. Here's his encouraging response to the question, "Will Dishonored run properly on the PS3? I don't want another Skyrim ."

"Dishonored runs very well on PS3. Press have been playing it all month at QuakeCon, Gamescom, and here at PAX. Ask all the press playing the PS3 version if you don't believe me."

That's good to hear but frankly, I'll believe it when I see it. Dishonored is slated to release on October 9 and it should be one of the better games of 2012, if it lives up to expectations.

Bugthesda says the PS3 version of Dishonored won't be buggy? Well of course it won't because they're not the ones making it.

Although even if Dishonored does work fine on the PS3 since Bugthesda didn't actually develop it Dishonored is likely going to do little if anything to counter their well deserved reputation as the worst PS3 developer in the industry. And on top of that I think there are at least some PS3 fans who aren't going to give a crap one way or the other at this point on account of being throughly sick and tired of Bugthesda's bs.

You can count me among them.

To be fair I didn't coin the term. I'm not sure who did and I don't remember exactly where I first saw it. But it certainly fits.

Different engine, different developers, different studio, (different type of name)

Buy good bethedia games (the ones that work well) and show them that the ps3 is worth programming for!

I believe it; the folks at Arkane seem to know what they are doing (previous credits going to Half Life 2, Bioshock 2, and Deus Ex) and while it is open world with plenty of options it isn't a super duper deep RPG with tons and tons of crap for the save file to deal with. Plus it isn't on Beth's engine. Unreal 3 is showing its age but I think it has been grasped well by many.

Also, I hope it burns when the press asks them questions like this one here.

Only because they didn't make it do I have hope, however it's still going to have the same issues as every other game running Unreal 3. I think it has the potential to be great, but I'm waiting for reviews and I'm probably getting on pc just to be safe.

It pains me to say this but why should Bethesda care? Look at the reviews for Skrim on Metacritic for example.

Everything was done by Bethesda to minimize the damage prior to the games release and the high scores show.

I won't be fooled again and will not be purchasing a Bethesda title until several months after the game releases if at all.

I'm pretty fed up with Bethesda. Maybe when they start losing thousands of sales because people on PS3 no longer trust them they'll start caring.
I liked Skyrim and never had any problems, but it was way over hyped and not some revolution like many made it out to be.
I won't be getting Dishonored new at all unless we see Dawnguard release on PS3 first.
But remembering Bethesda's other recent titles like Brink, chances are I'll wait till well after release if I ever do pick it up.
Way too many good games that I know will work coming out this year without having to worry about if Bethesda screwed up yet again.
Seriously, get some real developers!

They just gonna publish the game they didn't make it, my rant is because I'm a legit hater and anything Bethesda related gets my biased opinion xD.

Worst scenario with Dishonered is that probably if the game gets DLC it gonna be a timed exclusive for the 360.

Remember: Any bugs you may find aren't really bugs at all; they're funny things Bethesda left in there to amuse us!

Bethesda doesn't make serious games. They're actually the most misunderstood comedians of our age!

not exactly surprising, bugthesda is not creating this their just publishing it.
all the games they have published and not created themselves have ran fine!
most, RAGE for instance, actually runs BETTER on ps3 than 360!
so yea move along no news here.

well I agree that Bethesda sucks.. but as someone pointed out when I made a similar comment (basically saying i wouldnt get dishonored on PS3 if its gonna be as unplayable as SKyrim and every other Bethesda game on PS3)… Bethesda is publishing Dishonored but theyre not making it, so theres a high chance it wont suck.

Hard to say how Dishonored will turn out. Dishonored is after all only being published by them. I try to get my story driven games on PS3 as I prefer playing them on my big screen but I might very well get this on PC closer to release.

I've read all the "Bethesda isn't making the game" comments, and all the "don't worry, it will be good on PS3" comments, but call me jaded if you will, I'm still going to pick this one up on PC. Probably not the most popular thing to say here in the comments, but that's the skinny of it. I've been burnt too many times by games that have Bethesda attached to them and even if they aren't really making it, I'm not taking any chances of having a frustrating experience or a game that won't ever have DLC released for it on the system I purchased it on.

Bethesda as a company is a joke. They don't care about the PS3, they stabbed the PC market, the people they first programmed their games for, in the back and only care about publishing games on a 7 year old console that has 9 year old technology and then porting it to the PS3/PC. The only reason Skyrim received plenty of GOTYs is because all those websites are on the take and have 0 credibility. They're nothing but a 1st party MS publisher like Activision. Yet, you'll never hear that on a "non-biased" website lest you get banned for telling the truth.

Since Dishonored was not developed by Bethesda, I might give it a look someday but I'll take anything anybody associated with them says with a grain a salt.

I don't see much of Todd Howard online. I guess he's too busy standing in front of a mirror admiring the fact that he looks like Lyle Lovett…try saying that 5 times fast.

Oh stop being such crybabies, folks.
Bethesda as a publisher has released several titles that's run well on the PS3 over the years.

Need I remind you all of the pretty recent titles Brink and Rage? Dishonored is easily within the scope of those games. Surely it will run fine. No worries.

I know, that's like saying because Square Enix is publishing Tomb Raider it will be a series low. It doesn't add up.

Neo_Aeon666

Yeah well it's because people JUST got burn by it (Skyrim). And it was on the technical level. Square games always ran great on PS3 so no one cares if they publish more. We know that even if their games are not so good, Square generally releases high quality products (on the tech side) And they have published many great PS3 series.

So you can't really compare it to a dev that keeps releasing bad ports (with a few exeptions) and nearly completely ignores one side of their userbase to which they sold the game to for the same price XD

Also, the game they chose to mess up was kind of… GRAND… XD Like they messed up on one of the biggest and most acclaimed of the year XD That is why we feel much more hatred.
