Oh boy. 25th anniversary celebrations everywhere!

Hardcore veteran fans can go sixteen rounds on which is the superior franchise, Final Fantasy or Metal Gear Solid , and both have enjoyed a quarter-century of video game success.

But why argue? Why not just have the best of both worlds? While what Konami is offering can't really compete with the freshly unveiled Final Fantasy Ultimate Box Collection , the MGS producers do have something fun up their sleeves for collectors: The limited edition Metal Gear Solid Bundle Pack, which can be purchased right now at the Konami Style store . It's temporarily 20% off, so take advantage!

This package features:

Celebrate greatness with a wad of cash and a priceless store of memories. By the way, the answer to the question that would have gamers going sixteen rounds…? Final Fantasy , obviously. 😉 But that isn't to say I won't defend MGS to the bitter end against all naysayers.

You forgot the price Ben. It's $150.

All this Metal Gear talk lately really does have me wanting to try it again. I still remember being impressed with Metal Gear on NES, we didn't quite know what stealth was back then so it seemed like a kind of RPG-Action mix. Though maybe I should begin with Solid, I haven't played it since the PS1 days 🙂

I bought MGS3: Subsistence a couple of years before the PS3 came out, disk 2 has MG1 & 2, then later I found out that it was originally on the NES.

Really? That's… wow… that's a decade already isn't it?

I still play the 1st MGS to this day. It became like a tradition for me – to play it from beginning to end once a year. Ha.

Cool! Would be neat to have. Can't make much use for the iphone case, but any of this kind of stuff could be worth much more than it's worth right now someday. Which sounds like a lot. $150?

Me wants but I can't afford it right now. My wife dropped significant coin on a brand new 1911 for me for my birthday so money is a little tight.

Edit: ugh! I want Peace Walker on my Vita. They seriously need to drop the price of the digital version on PSN. Makes zero sense to me as to why it's still $29.99 when the physical copy is $19.99.

Gun or guitar?

Pistol. Just in time for its 100 year anniversy too. John Browning developed it for the US military in 1911. Hence the name 1911.

Awesome, I've been shopping around for one of those this last week. What company is it? Kimber, smith and wesson, springfield…?

It's a Smith & Wesson TA E series. It's beautiful but I had some issues with it that required some warranty work. I had to send it off to S&W last week. 🙁

Oh, that stinks, but hey still a great choice. One that I was looking at specifically lol. Beautiful gun.

Although that's a good deal considering that figure alone costs over $100 by itself, I still wish it included the downloadable versions so I could play them on my vita without having to purchase them again.

@SuMtOnE:

My total was roughly the same…no 20% discount applied unless the $149.99 was with the 20% already??? Maybe Ben can clarify?
