First Fumito Ueda and now one of his right-hand men.

As reported at Andriasang , Kenji Kaido has revealed via Twitter that he's leaving Sony Computer Entertainment this month. That's too bad.

This is significant because he worked alongside Ueda as a producer on two of the industry's most beloved titles, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus . He wouldn't say what he plans to do after leaving Sony; for now, he says he's on vacation and that's where he'll stay for a little while. Unfortunately, there's no way to know if Kaido was involved in The Last Guardian , Ueda's latest project that has received plenty of attention as of late due to development difficulties. Sony confirmed that the game was still in development and it'll still come to the PS3.

Right now, that's about all we know. Maybe we'll get an official update on the game at the Tokyo Game Show next month. We won't read too much into Kaido's departure, as we're not sure if this has any impact on Guardian .

Probably going to follow Ueda into lame iOS games and browser games and such.

I don't think TLG is going to resemble what we had all hoped for while Team Ico was originally putting it together.

I don't think we should really worry about how the game will come out. We've already heard that they have already done much of the game, but the reason they are taking so long is because of several technical issues. Remember, Ueda is still involved with the development of TLG even though he's not with Sony anymore.

So he says, I wonder just how much say or sway he really has now that he's gone. I hope things turn out really well but all these problems and then Sony having to swoop in and save the project is all plenty to make me myself and I worry.

judging from the extra's that came with the ico collection, team ico was 3 or 4 people in an office in sony japan studio.
They did all the pre production ie. concept art ect(being former cgi artists)then japan studio would handle production under supervision from ueda and the other producers.
At least thats what i gleamed from the vids i downloaded from the ps store.

According to another article I read earlier today, Kaido was not working on The Last Guardian, so if true, then nothing changes.

I'm am glad I haven't looked at a single trailer of The Last Guardian yet, the production sounds like the most disastrous project this gen, more so than Versus XIII.

just because $ony says its still in production does not mean its true.

disappointing, makes you wonder why all these big heads are leaving?
i mean $ony jappan studio is one of $onys biggest studios and one of their leading studios.
if theres one studio that has a big hand in next gen titles ATM it will be them, its their lead studio!
so why are such big heads leaving all of a sudden?
this makes what, 7 SCEJ employees departing now within a few months?
and 4 of them have been producers and CEOs dont get much higher than that!
so what is $ony doing to piss them off and make them leave?
worrying this is.
