Dishonored Study Of Stealth Gameplay: Won’t Know What Hit ‘Em

Dishonored is all about choice; i.e., how you want to approach any given objective.

And over the past few months, Bethesda and developer Arkane Studios have provided you with a series of gameplay videos to highlight that innate diversity of style. The latest focuses on our favorite: Stealth.

Here's The Study of Stealth, which highlights your character's significant sneaking ability, enhanced by his strange but immensely effective supernatural powers. It's not just about lurking in the shadows, running past guards, and occasionally choking out an enemy who has his back turned; no, this goes well beyond the traditional stealth basics. The options are just mind-boggling.

gameplay looks fun but I'm not feeling the art style. Graphics look like a PS3 launch title.

Ya gotta cut it a little slack, it's open world from a dev that hasn't been out on its own yet this gen.

One word: GAMEPLAY! I'm not so good at stealth but I sure do love it. Day 1 will be a good day for steampunk fans, stealth fans, and Bioshock fans.

I love those Tall Boys, very menacing.

Oh boy. *This* is what gaming is about. Gameplay gameplay gameplay.
Do we have here the game who define the new standard for stealth gameplay? That might well be the case!

I like how darkness plays a role, a little like Manhunt. You can see him blow out those candles and then hide. For some reason I always enjoy games where you can lean out and peek at the enemy.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth had a great first person stealth system.

I'm really hoping this game puts traditional stealth games back on the radar. I miss Tenchu 🙁

looks sweet!
gameplay that is, story im a little skeptical still.
i hope it offers both the variety, customization that the gameplay offers.
and also the depth and attention to detail the gameplay has.
oh so many games this gen have promised to have branching stories depending on what you do, thus drastically changing the story.
but, yea, well, they have all been pretty pathetic!
either there grey and silver, ie so similar they might as well be the same!
or just really poorly thought out and not very interesting.
lets hope this can change that, break the branching story line curse!
