Maybe you're not the biggest fan of the direction Ratchet & Clank has taken over the past few years. Maybe you just want the good ol' traditional single-player-oriented adventure back.
If so, than you'll very likely welcome Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault , the new Insomniac title slated for the PlayStation Network. They've given us a few more gameplay details over at the PlayStation Blog , and they're awfully encouraging for the long-time fans.
In addition to returning to the "classic camera, weapons and third-person Ratchet gameplay that the series is known for," the team is also tossing in a new tower defense element. That means building and defending a base against alien invaders, which adds an interesting level of intrigue and strategy to the standard action/platforming mechanic. On top of which, we'll actually be able to choose our character: We can play as Ratchet, Clank or Captain Qwark. Once you've selected your hero, you're off an a quest spanning five levels across three different planets.
Oh, and the ever-popular co-op is available as well, both online and offline (split-screen). Long live R&C!
