Not that we have anything against SuperBot, but…

In speaking at Comic-Con this past weekend, SuperBot Entertainment president Chan Park revealed something interesting : Initially, Sony had approached Naughty Dog with the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale concept.

But at the time, the Uncharted studio was already at work on The Last Of Us , so they declined to take on the PlayStation battler. As a result, Sony opted to create a new internal studio (SuperBot, of course) for the express purpose of designing Battle Royale . Well, if Sony made the group, we have little doubt they know what they're doing; first-party teams in the PlayStation world have proven themselves time and time again. Still, wouldn't it have been interesting to see Naughty Dog try this particular title…? Or what about Sony Santa Monica, who does God of War ?

Anyway, we're still pretty sure PlayStation All-Stars will be a damn good title; it launches on October 23 for the PS3 and Vita.

What happened may have been for the best. Sure, it would be intriguing to see what a studio in the calibre of Naughty Dog could do with a fighting game, but I'm already impressed with what Superbot Entertainment has done with the game thus far.

If Naughty Dog was eventually given PlayStation all-stars, we will not be seeing the Last of Us (at best we will have to wait a lot longer). This also allowed Sony to build a studio from the ground up filled with people who have a lot of experience in fighting games (I don't think ND has already made one before).

wow this is going to be a massive seller!
this is the stupidest thing $ony has done since cancelling 8 days and the getaway 3, and limiting their best studio, team SOHO, to crappy kids games!
actually come to think of it i wonder why they were not offered this?

Does anyone know who owns the rights to Crash Bandicoot now? It is essential he makes an appearance in this game.

With the updated cast of Heihachi and Jak & Daxter I am becoming more interested, I hope they don't start coning us with DLC characters later on…

Activision as of now.

I concur, he was THE mascot during PS1-era from all those commercials and the like.

Activision. Also, there will be DLC characters later. They said they "didn't realize so many characters have such large fanbases" so some that didn't make the cut will probably be offered later as add-on content.

I was the first one to brainstorm the idea of ps All stars, I requested Ben to talk to Sony if it's ever possible, and guess what I didn't have to wait more than 2 years
