We figured this was coming.
No point in delaying when the cat is already out of the bag , right EA? May as well make it all official.
And so they have. According to GameSpot , the publisher has confirmed the next Battlefield installment, and has further revealed the estimated beta window: Fall 2013. The rumor was correct, as those who purchase this year's Medal of Honor: Warfighter will automatically gain access to the trial; right now, we don't have an exact date or specified platforms.
If the beta is set for the fall, does that mean BF4 will launch for the holiday season as many predicted? Or is the game a little further off? Will EA want to take a year off from the shooter race and just let Call of Duty do its thing? Ah, but what about the next generation of consoles? So many questions… BF4 should rock, at any rate.
Related Game(s): Battlefield 4
I should try BF3 one of these days… eventually.
Really you should World. You will be surprised at how good FrostByte is. The engine rocks. Probably some of the best lighting I have seen in a game, besides the Sony exclusives…
All in all a great piece of work…
I am up fro Battlefield 4, bring it on EA!
Any word on Dust514… its gone very quite. When are they going to release the game?
Q!
"play.experience.enjoy"
BF3 was a bit of a flop, atleast for PC. They have small maps for the most part, which restrict attacks down very narrow paths in almost every map, and forget about any kind of weapon balance in the game, let alone vehicle balance.
I wanted BF3 to be the amazing game we were told we would have, but EA sold us on a lie, and I'm not touching anything EA related for a long time.
How are the maps in PC small? They are the same size as the ones on console. Map sizes across all platforms are the exact same. If anything , and i cant believe i about to say this, the PC version was the best version of BF3. Most of the conquest maps have more objectives than console, the multiplayer is MUCH larger, and the graphics when on a higher end machine are just plain better.
The only drawback to the PC version is hackers, and aimbots. But really, explain to me this size thing.
I meant the game has small maps in general, not just on the PC.
And ofcourse a FPS is better on a PC, it always has, and always will be.
BF3 was a huge letdown,it's sad that when I do get the urge to play it, I think to myself, " why dont I just play CS…"

The PC version has bigger maps as has been reported by multiple sources.
And they're bigger then the maps in Battlefield 2 so I don't get the small map argument. Restrict attacks to narrow paths in almost every map? On city maps yeah, what do you expect in street fights in the first place. But even then it's limited to certain parts of those maps as they are still wide open enough to have huge firefights. Weapon balance was a bit of a problem at launch, but most of the major issues have been fixed. Mortars are still a pain, but they're supposed to be. Vehicle balance is fine as it is now, as each one is effective if you know how to use them.
hahaha, u gents need to go read the official forums, you have no idea how far into the minority you are.
It comes down to this, some maps are big….. ok 1 map is big,the rest are not however, and again most have piss poor balance when it comes to rush type maps. Weapon balance is still a HUGE problem with this game, as is the vehicle balance, mainly jets being too strong, however this is coming from the PC side of the game, I dont know how the console versions are doing in terms of balance. EA is just another garbage dev/publisher, right along side Activision.
Oh yeah. The official forums of any game represent the majority of the games player base. Get real. The vocal minority has always used the forums as their soapbox. With around the 12 million units sold mark, last I looked, you'd think there would be more then the 108,611 total topics and 1,117,043 total posts that are there in the forums currently, and that includes the official posts by EA. So your forum argument isn't very affective.
It should be clear, but I guess some people need it explained to them, not every1 uses the forums, and you get more truth from official forums then any other source.
Look, if you like the game, good for you, if you wanna be an EA puppet, knock urself out, but that doesnt excuse the fact that this game is a flop to the majority of players. EA shouldnt even be thinking of BF4 until they've cleaned up BF3, hell, they've still got 2 more expansion packs to push, and they've already anounced BF4, what a joke, any1 with half a brain should know exactly what will happen here, they'll get every cent they can from the fools that bought BF3+expansions+premium, and then they'll leave BF3 in a broken state and move on to the next cash cow, and it would seem that this is going to be business as usual with EA and the BF series from now on.
Battlefield 3's awesome, if you dislike it you're probably just getting your ass kicked.
I played BF3, honestly found it "meh." The Single Player ending was kind of rushed. The story was forgettable, the music was next to nonexistent. Also, as I said, the ending was cut short, as if they ran out of ideas. :/
Seeing as how BF3 is the first game in the main series to even have a single player campaign, it's not even fair to fault it for it's misgivings. It's always been a multiplayer game. Adding single player for the newest one was more of a bonus then anything else, and so people can learn how to play before hopping online. Though it was plainly obvious that a lot of people didn't play that part as they all made easy targets 😛
Soooooo, EA looks like it will do the same thing as Activision and have two companies alternate between different shooter franchises every year…
Great -_-
Seeing as how the BF4 beta isn't scheduled to start until sometime in the fall of 2013, it's obvious that it isn't coming out every year, unlike every CoD title.
sigh.
hey DICE, what happened to the "it would be impossible for us to build a battlefield game in 2 years" statement?
i remember a few months before BF3 released there were rumours of this happening, EA doing what antivision does and having yearly cycles between MoH and BF.
so in a interview DICE was asked about it, and they simply said it would be impossible for them to create a battlefield game in 2 years.
well, either their lying out of their teeth as usual.
or they have managed to somehow turn the impossible into the already done!
ill go with the former………
sigh.
if i had a nickel for every time a developer and or publisher lied to my face, well, you get the point by now!
maybe, just maybe could this be why people are always disappointed?
so sick of PR bullshitting about their games just to gain a few sales!!!!!!!!!
DICE should be busy beavering away on ME2.
than BFBC3.
once there out, and only when they are out should they even think about BF4.
really starting to get sick of the franchise milking lately!
tbh i wouldent be surprised if this gen ends up being my last gen of gaming.
its come to the point where you spend 500+ bucks on a gaming device, 120+ on each game just so you can have the same apple day in day out!
and maybe 1 new fresh apple once every 2 or 3 years.
yea, no thanks im done with it!
so sick of everyone jumping on the me too bandwagon!
