It's just an awesome era.
Ubisoft has announced that Spartacus Legends is in the works. This fighting game "will immerse users in the visceral world created by the popular Spartacus original series produced and distributed by Starz Entertainment." Unsurprisingly, popular characters from the TV show will be featured.
Scheduled to release in early 2013, players will step into the dangerous boots of primeval gladiators; they will train and fight to survive in front of thousands of cheering fans. The game will boast "thousands of ruthless weapon combinations and a robust skill system," and we'll also be able to customize our fighters. We can opt to play as Spartacus, Crixus, or a character of our creation. Battling with friends will also be available online and offline.
Interestingly, Liam McIntyre has been part of the project since the beginning. He has given his likeness and voice to the game, but he's also a big gamer himself, and he played early builds of the game and gave the developers some creative feedback. If you're unfamiliar with "Spartacus," the series airs in over 150 countries around the world and is one of the highest rated cable shows in the US.
So who has high hopes for this one?
