Woah, that was fast .
Not long after Ubisoft's Watch Dogs wowed the pants off the E3 crowd , we're already hearing about a possible movie adaptation. Yes, really.
As reported by Fusible , Ubisoft has registered some domain names that tell us a film could already be on the table. The domains in question are "WatchDogsmovie.com" (Whois) and "WatchDogsthemovie.com" (Whois), along with a couple others. Of course, this could just be a publisher attempting to cover all its virtual Internet bases by covering its brand new IP to the best of its ability, but it's interesting nonetheless.
It'd be even more interesting if the game and movie launched alongside one another. Maybe that's the next wave: We've seen movies launch alongside games based on that movie, but we've never seen the reverse… Maybe that's what they're secretly planning for Grand Theft Auto V ! Then again, maybe we don't want any…uh…cross-pollination.

The concept certainly looks intriguing. The main character looks badass!
Maybe with movie big shots hanging around the studio for the Splinter Cell movie they just couldn't help themselves.
I think they're just making some placeholders like many company's do just in case somebody else takes wants to steal those names & then tries to hold out for big ransoms on them

It's kind of a shame they are cracking down on that. Sure it's underhanded but I like the finders keepers rule.
its not finders keepers, its blackmail and copyright infringement!
i still remember the idiot who bought the playstation 3 domain name and tried to milk $ony for it.
only one place for those idiots, the court house!
It isn't copyright infringement, it's virtual property purchase as far as I'm concerned. If I know a huge mall is going to buy out a neighborhood and bulldoze it I should have the right to buy a house there and hold out for a good price. It's just business, boo hoo if you were too stupid to prevent it.
it is copyright.
companies copyright names so people cant try sell things gaining from its popularity.
a guy had playstationthree domain name, hows that not copyright infringement!?
so i can go create a console and call it playstation living?
sweet!
not exactly surprising the game has been in development for over 2 years!
dont really care if it gets made into a movie just as long as it does not effect the game!
hollywood lost my interest YEARS ago!
