How many copies might Grand Theft Auto V sell? Well, the short simple answer is: Many.

But to be more specific, Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia expects the hotly anticipated title to sell around 14 million copies . He also anticipates a Q1 2013 launch.

Overall, such a sales total would rake in around $700 million in revenue for Take-Two, which anticipates seeing over $1 billion from Rockstar products in the current fiscal year. Max Payne 3 is already out but to hit that number, it seems obvious that GTAV will have to arrive; Bhatia says it's "all but a given" that Take-Two will bring us the new GTA before the end of the fiscal year (March 31, 2013). For the record, GTAIV debuted back in April of 2008 and shipped 13 million units before the end of March 2009, so the numbers the analyst predicts aren't out of the realm of possibility. In fact, it's probably inevitable, right?

We just want to see the game, damnit.

GTA IV was delayed from October 2007 to April 2008 in order to boost sales in the next fiscal year. If Take-Two wants the sales in this fiscal year it will most likely release in October, unless they feel Halo 4 is a threat. GTA IV was set for 10/16/07… so I'm going to say it's safe to expect it on 10/16/12 (just taking a financial track record as a basis for my analysis)

I'd put it down for November of this year. T2's financials make it seem necessary for it to hit this FY, and I doubt it'll come any earlier than September, considering we're still in the dark about EVERYTHING. October will very likely see it cannibalise the sales of XCOM (a tragedy if ever there could be one) and I get the feeling that any time within the new year could have an adverse effect on Bioshock Infinite.

It's a balancing act, that's for sure. Dropping it in November shows that R* and T2 really do have a pair. It's a statement that they're not afraid of the juggernaut that is Call of Duty and it will certainly prove once and for all which of the two is the most loved by the masses. Also, I think 14 million in a year is an easy target, considering there are over a hundred million consoles in the wild and GTA IV managed 13 million with roughly half that in houses…

should sell allot more than 14!
dident IV sell 12?
and that was back in 08 where allot of people still had not purchased current gen systems!
if GTAV fails to sell more than IV than it will be a epic failure!
and will probably be because of the stale taste IV left in peoples mouth………

I'm not going to lie I am not expecting it until next year, we have barely even seen any footage from the game or a defintive answer to who the lead character is. But if is fills in later this year then great, due to every other game being pushed back to 2013, 2012 really needs a strong title like this.
