Maybe You Should Add GTAV To Your Holiday Wish List

If you're one of those people who love the holidays, and you're on the lookout for presents (for yourself) as of Memorial Day, one game should be on your list:

Grand Theft Auto V .

The pieces are starting to come together. Take-Two has predicted quite the successful fiscal year and as a result, several industry analysts – including Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter – are saying such a prediction can't come true without the launch of a major blockbuster title.

Pachter said the publisher's guidance is flat-out "unattainable" without something so huge, and Robert W. Baird analyst Colin Sebastian has added that GTAV will ship in the next year. This means we can expect the hotly anticipated title before March 31, 2013, when Take-Two's fiscal year ends. On top of which, a NeoGAF forumite has pounced on a Xbox Support Twitter update (since deleted) that said GTAV would launch "later this year."

So maybe it's inevitable. Then again, maybe Take-Two wants the late winter or early spring all to themselves; if you remember, GTAIV released in April.

If R* just declared a loss, now might just be better time than ever to invest in some stock (not sure whether with Take-Two or R*) with massive GTAV sales on the horizon.

It would make sense. E3 would be the perfect time to show it off and announce a holiday release date.

I've been playing Episodes from Liberty City (thank's for the discount, PS+) and as a result, I am super-psyched for this game. San Andreas was my favorite location, so the fact that we're returning to it, even if it's just Los Santos, has me pumped.

I just can't see it happening in 2012, it can still easily hit the fiscal year though.

I'm expecting a mid-March release date.

Max Payne 3 can't be the only thing Rockstar release this fiscal year. Sure, it's a great game, and a pretty big title, but it's not a mammoth release like a brand new GTA title.

Since we've only got the 1 trailer so far, I'm calling it a bit of a stretch seeing GTA V release in 2012. It might come early December, but a March 2013 release seems far more likely, especially with Rockstar wanting time to polish GTA to near perfection.

I hope it comes this year and with devs pushing their games to next year it might be the case. I doubt anyone wants to go head to head with gta. Bioshock would get massive exposure if they included a demo of it in gta.
