Dante will ultimately return, but not this year.

Capcom has announced that the highly anticipated Devil May Cry reboot, known simply as DMC , will launch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America on January 15. The PC version won't arrive until later, although development on that iteration is "well underway."

When the game was first revealed, long-time fans of the cocky hero were a little annoyed at his new "emo" look. But developer Ninja Theory has made it plain that such a change was encouraged and ultimately approved by Capcom, as the two companies apparently continue to work closely on this project. If you'd like an example of some gameplay, the developer has released plenty; here's one video that proved the high-impact combat from past entries is still very much intact. That scythe looks like an amazing weapon.

Hopefully, this January 15 date will be better, as DMC doesn't have to compete with the highly competitive fall lineup. It's likely that their last effort, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West , was hurt by hitting during a busy October, and we still say that game didn't get enough attention. But then again, "Devil May Cry" is a well-known IP, so…

If your going to get this might as well wait and get it for PC, it will run at 60fps.

DMC belongs on consoles and I doubt you will sway anyone to wait and pick this up on PC just for some added fps. Come on, you've got to know your comment is flamebait.

How the hell was that flame bate? One of the biggest grips about the game is that its running at 30fps which is horrible for a DMC. At least on PC it will run at the frame rate it should have have had from the very beginning.

Not to mention the mods that will come out for it can further alleviate some more complaints.(Original Dante skins and whatnot)

I'm not buying this game what so ever, I just wanted people that are the fence to know that the PC version will most likely be the better choice if they have problems with many of the things we know about it.

There's no guarantee whatsoever that DMC on PC will be the "better choice."

LV is right. It's for consoles. ALL action games like DMC are.

Look, I know you don't like PC gaming. Hell, I don't either. But that doesn't mean you should just dismiss the version outright because you don't think it "belongs".

The PC version for DMC4 was far better than the console versions.

Bar a horrible port job, the simple fact that the PC version will run at 60fps instantly makes the PC version better.

Has nothing to do with any bias. Nobody wants to play a Devil May Cry or a God of War or Ninja Gaiden on PC. Or at least, very few.

Action games have never been the haven of PC gaming, even when the gap between PCs and consoles was a lot bigger than it is now.

Sure, not as much people are going to buy it for PC then on console but what does that matter? You know better then anyone that sales don't equal quality.

The PC version of Street Fighter 4 is miles upon miles better than any other version. Didn't sell a whole lot.

I hope people are warming up to this, I'm stoked but I have to wait until later to decide if it's day 1 or not.

I think people will be surprised at the story aspect as that is where NT excels, and the combat certainly looks up to par.

I wish they had found a way to get Andy Serkis in this.

… Capcom just forced me to postpone my travels by three weeks. I'm not even kidding. All I can say is that I'm glad it's so early in the new year, I can work with that.

Still annoyed.

Yeah, but the typeface really doesn't matter. It's still ultimately the same name.
