Most were expecting Rockstar to show off Grand Theft Auto V at E3 this year, even if the game wouldn't arrive until 2013.
Or maybe they'd announce the next Red Dead or the long-rumored Bully sequel. Either way, nobody really thought the developer would miss E3 2012 entirely , but they're mysteriously absent from the list of exhibitors for the upcoming event.
But wait…it isn't "mysterious" at all, really. Rockstar basically never shows up at E3, although we're not really sure why. Then again, Take-Two Interactive, the company set to publish GTAV and other Rockstar titles, will indeed be at E3, so maybe that's all we need to know. Still, we wish we understood why Rockstar seems to avoid this event; we have heard developers say preparing for such things takes time away from development, so that could be the reason. Or maybe they just don't want to get the hype train rolling prematurely.
Whatever the reason, we're just hoping to hear more news on whatever they're working on…soon.
