Okay, so we've lost Bioshock Infinite for 2012. But maybe another ambitious title will turn heads this fall…

Bethesda Softworks has announced that Dishonored , in development at Arkane Studios, will launch for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 9 in North America, and three days later in Europe.

The city of Dunwall awaits your exploration; featuring a steampunk-esque futuristic setting and multiple gameplay elements, the title has a ton of promise. Gamers will step into the shoes of Corvo, a former bodyguard for the Empress, who has met with an untimely fate. You are framed for the crime and become an infamous assassin; your calling card is a "disturbing mask" and soon, many will come to fear that you're out there, lurking in the shadows… And in a city besieged by plague and under the thumb of a corrupt government, you will have to utilize special supernatural powers to fight your way to the top; to discover who is responsible for turning you into an outlaw.

Dishonored will also boast a "flexible combat system" that combines weapons and the aforementioned magic-like skills (which makes it sound a little like Bioshock ), and you have complete freedom in regards to your targets. Lastly, "the outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make," and that's always a popular theme. Can't wait to try it!

Geez..I hope we don't get another fall like last year when the heavy hitters dropped month after month. Looking forward to this yet hope GTAV doesn't drop in the same month.

Wow that's sooner than I thought, with Infinite pushed further out Dishonored is about to get a lot of my attention. Let's see if they can get me to pre-order.

My Bioshock meter got drained with that news so I'm going to take a DLC risk and buy Minerva's Den. Need. More. Bioshock.

I feel like we've only just heard about this game, and it's coming out this year? Don't know whether to be worried or excited. I'm getting a feeling it may be too soon perhaps? Anyway, I'll be looking forward to it. All of it's combined elements should make for an interesting and diverse experience.

my most anticipated title by far!

disappointingly mediocre but it had so much potential!
still upset were missing out on infinite, but i guess this will help make up for it!
