Yesterday, we heard that work on a Bayonetta sequel had been halted .
However, it wasn't long before Platinum Games bosses Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya took to their Twitter accounts, poking a little fun at the "news."
You can catch the summary of their responses here ; essentially, they're wondering how Sega could cancel a game that has never been confirmed. Inaba posted this Tweet apparently mocking the rumor, and Kamiya added:
"Game that hasn't been announced can't be canceled, so I know Bayo 2 is safe in your mind-heart and around PG office."
He also added- "Isn't it funny that people believe a random source!?" It's certainly true that SPOnG didn't reveal their source and hence, that's why it was nothing more than a rumor. It's also nice to see that Bayonetta 2 might still happen, and that'd be great news. Besides, we need the sequel to inspire more Bayonetta cosplay. …'cough'
Ok it's nice to get conformation from the horse's mouth that B2 is still alive and might be seen in the future.
"…we need the sequel to inspire more Bayonetta cosplay. …'cough'". Yes we do, Ben, yes we do lol.
Well you CAN cancel an unannounced title by cancelling it. Unannounced doesn't mean not being developed. Derrrr.
Yes of course you can. That it's not announced doesn't mean it's not planned, or in development. Hehe that tweet really made no sense whatsoever. Something must have been lost in translation or something. 😀

Pretty sure he meant you can't officially cancel an unofficial announcement. Something along those lines anyway.
Indeed maybe he was trying to say something like: ''Isn't even announced and is already rumored to be canceled xD''

I'm just happy that Bayo 2 still might very well be in development. There is hope…
