We've already seen a couple LittleBigPlanet entries, but might the next be a little different…?

Social gaming continues to expand and this expansion is being felt in all corners of the industry. For instance, according to TheSixthAxis , there's a chance that the LBP developers are looking to make Sackboy more…Facebook-y.

Either that, or they're looking to create a full-fledged MMO. This evidence comes courtesy of a job listing at the franchise's official website; the position is for a Lead Community Manager and under the Requirements section, they ask for someone with "a strong knowledge and passion for games, ideally to include social gaming and MMO’s." Despite LBP's family-oriented approach to entertainment, it has never really qualified for the "social gaming tag," so this is an interesting find. What might be in the works…?

Media Molecule and the other studios involved in the creation of these titles are definite innovators. Maybe they're once again trying something very new and very progressive…only it involves the casual and the mainstream rather than the hardcore niche crowd. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

LBP2 actually has social networking components already built into it: Tagging, rating, commenting, reviewing, voice and text chat, Twitter-like Recent Activity feed, profile, photo uploading (in-game shots or PSEye) and other things you will recognize when you play it a lot.

I could definitely see the LBP franchise branching off having a social network, BUT as long as the core components (Playing, Creating and Sharing) are intact I would not complain.

Sweet, the one PS3 franchise that translates perfectly into social networking. It would be so cool to have a facebook game that lets you run around levels as a bunch of sackboys with your friends and compete for high scores, all with UGC stuff. I would totally play that.

Speaking of LBP, I would like to see a mechanic that erases cruddy levels if after 4 weeks it has more negative than positive responses. 6 million levels is nice to boast about but its a rediculous amount of unplayable garbage lvls that should be cleaned up.
