We thought Bulletstorm was an invigorating romp and a perfect guilty pleasure for shooter aficionados.
And while it sold relatively well and was met with general critical acclaim, fans won't get a sequel. Epic Games president Mike Capps told GameSpot that although developer People Can Fly had actually started development on a follow-up effort, it was ditched in favor of something better. Said Capps:
"We thought a lot about a sequel, and had done some initial development on it, but we found a project that we thought was a better fit for People Can Fly. We haven't announced that yet, but we will be announcing it pretty soon."
He did add that he'd "love to go back" to Bulletstorm at some point in the future and admitted that "it kind of ended wanting more." But for the time being, a sequel just isn't in the cards so fans of the original title will just have to sit tight. For the record, Capps said the sales were "good, but not amazing," and EA was probably hoping for a better performance.
It's a tough world out there for new IPs, isn't it?
