More and more media and info for Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction is popping up left and right, and the latest detail is actually very significant. According to Games Radar , Insomniac will be abandoning Ratchet's typical run 'n gun style for a bigger platforming focus. In other words, Tools of Destruction , despite the name, will be more like the original Ratchet and less like the last couple of installments.
As Insomniac president Ted Price said, the team wants to "revisit" what made everyone fall in love with the series in the first place. Honestly, this is something we could've guessed if we check out the latest screenshots and newest trailer ; just look at all the detail! With that much effort put into the environment, it would've been a waste to include only third-person shooter elements, so we're not upset to hear about this "return to its roots" philosophy.
We also have some new plot points: supposedly, a recognizable enemy from Ratchet's past is back to wreak havoc once again, and several other familiar faces will be making their return, like Captain Quark. The more info that comes to light, the more excited we get. How about you?
