I was never into fighting games that much but I have to admit, I have great memories of the Dead or Alive series.

I'm not sure if everyone remembers, but DOA2: Hardcore for the PS2 was a fantastic showcase of that system's capabilities early on. I was also working at EB at the time, and it was an employee favorite; tag-teaming and pizza at the manager's house after closing was common for a while. …wait, that didn't sound right.

Anyway, the point is that while the fighting purists will laugh, a new DoA always turns my head. I know it's not the toughest, I know it's not the fastest, and I know the devs still use the "jiggle" appeal to get young men to buy the game. But I don't care; these games are usually pretty damn solid from a technical standpoint, and loads of fun. Here's a new trailer for Dead or Alive 5 featuring Hitomi and Ayane:
