Okay, so you've got Lightning. Congrats. But the challenges in the Coliseum are only just beginning…
We had heard about this earlier, but now it's official: as revealed at the Square Enix Members website, the new Jihl Nabaat downloadable content for Final Fantasy XIII-2 will arrive next week. Remember her?
If you had forgotten your FFXIII history, Jihl quickly became a Lieutenant Colenal of PSICOM (Public Safety and Intelligence Command), and was most definitely not an ally of Lightning and Co. In fact, Jihl was ruthless and cruel and as most villains tend to do, basically got in the way. So next week, you'll be able to take her down in the Coliseum and if you can manage it, you can add her to your Monster list…yep, she'll be available to put in your party.
However, beating Lightning and Amodar was no easy task, and we're willing to bet Jihl Nabaat will be one tough customer. Also, fair warning for the uninitiated: you can't just beat her; you have to beat her and get her to drop her crystal. …took me five or six tries to get Lightning. Also, one final piece of news: a new episode entitled "Lightning's Story: Requiem of the Goddess" is "coming soon." Maybe that will help ease some of the sting of that ending I really didn't like .
Oh, and the Jihl DLC should come in at $2.99 (same price for the Lightning/Amodar DLC). No word yet on how much this new episode will cost, though.

I really hope that DLCs just exist to extend the life of a game. You know, by giving players something new to do but not necessarily something that will flesh out the story of a character who is already in the game.
I wouldn't mind bonus costumes, weapons, armor, monsters, or other such optional stuff. But I really find it incredulous that the story for Lightning has been relegated to a DLC when she is such an important character.
Just my two cents worth.
it took me around 30 times beating lighting b4 i got her.. and after 30 times of fighting, i still haven't got amodar.. i am very indecisive about getting this dlc of jill.. unless she is a awesome 'monster'.. killing lightning that many times was just too frustrating..
You don't get Amodar. You only get Lightning, I'm fairly certain.
And you increase your chances of getting a crystal if you deal the killing blow with your Feral Link. In fact, it's basically the only way to get the crystal with rare monsters, unless you plan on trying it a hundred times.
You do get amodar actually, I read on many posts.. some people got him, and he is a commando. A lot of posts on gamefaqs about his build, and if he was any good to build up.
Yes, I was googling on how to get lightning, as it was driving me crazy.. as for the first around 20 times, I didn't kill her w/ a feral link.. i did use a feral link during the battle however.. i even tried killing her w/ a ultimate arrow and javelin… which got me some item called something cross, which subtracts my HP… and for the last 10 times i was trying, I did kill lightning with a feral link and finally got her after more than 10 times.. From what i read, its all based on luck. drop rate was like 7 percent..
and to get amador, he should be killed last, also with a feral link to increase chances.
You can get Amodar? I had no idea…but I don't really care, because Lightning is the bomb. 😉
Using the Feral Link during battle won't do anything for you; it has to deal the killing blow. And it is luck, but it greatly increases your chances. That percentage you see when you do the button prompts during the Link? The higher it is, the better the chances are that the monster will drop its crystal upon dying.
you can get Amodar and Lightning both, I got Amodar on my first beating him, but Lightning, I tried 10+ times and I finally got her, bottom line is, you do get both….
I will get the Nabaat DLS and the Lightning story episode based on the fact that I already spent 90+ hours to have platinumed it, might as well get it. I flet Nabaat is a cool female character in FF13 however her presence in the game was short lived, so I'd like to have her in the party

Jihl Nabaat dlc can bite it. Was a pain in the ass just trying to get lightning. I didn't bother "counting" how many times it took me to kill them inorder to get them. I didn't care for amodar that much, but I ended up getting him first because I killed him last. This is something I read on the internet, but I don't know if it is true or not despite it happening to me.
So to be on the safe side, I made sure to kill lightning last after I made up my mind I'm willing to get her. I did not use feral links for the killing blow. (this is where I managed to get my 99,999 damage trophy)
At the end it was somewhat worth it, but the whole idea rubbed me the wrong way.
You probably do have to beat Amodar last, which is why I never got him. I always eliminated him first.
Lighting is definitely worth it. Maxed out and infused correctly, she's arguably the best "monster" in the game.
If I was to pay for a character, I would like to have them instead of jumping through hoops that may never even deliver the character I paid for.
Nice rack on Jihl though.
Yes you do get Amador… I got him after about 6 tries.. killing him last. But he isn't that great. He's not terrible, but there are much better commandos. Like my "Siphon" build Omega =)
I put "Bunny Ears" on him.. killer robot bunny! xD

Never cared for Jihl, so I doubt I'll ever get her as for the Lightning episode I might be interested but I still don't approve of story related DLC in Final Fantasy, I paid £70 for the guide and collectors edition, yet they stil want more $$$… I really shouldn't. I just want another game, if they intend to finish it through DLC… that might be enought to make me give up on the series.
Todays episode of Forever Pokemon features Jihls Pokemon Fantasy and the Lightning Stadium Adventure.
Can anyone tell me about how necessary these dlc feel? I genuinely want to know because so far, the dlc is turning me off from buying the game.
Are they necessary for full completion? Do you really experience the whole game without them?
These are just monsters you can get in the colesium you can use in your party… nothing really story related so far…
the sazh content.. doesn't really tell much either in terms of story.. it was quite short, and at the end you get to use sazh and can use him.
If the Sazh DLC is any indication, it's gonna be $4.99 USD/CAD. Not sure how much that is in Euros though 😛
I have Lightning, Amodar and Sazh as party members now, but I've finished the game so I don't really need them. I'm just mainly waiting on 'Requiem Of The Goddess', I agree also the story ending was horrible to watch. Poor Serah :P, and poor Noel too since he tried and thought he protected her. I also hope SQEX make DLC fights were you can have Snow, Vanille, Fang and Hope as party members. I just wish we could control them too.
