When Capcom revealed Resident Evil 6 , most saw a debut trailer that was more action than survival/horror.

In the following weeks, the publisher called RE6 "dramatic horror" and was quoted as saying it "only makes sense" to add more action to the franchise. Unsurprisingly, some of the long-time hardcore fans were a little miffed.

So we wanted to know what our readers thought and in response to the, "what's your take on this 'more action' stuff" question…well, let's just say we sense a lot of skepticism out there. Most either "hate it" or are "on the fence," but few seem to think it was the right move. Obviously, we need more information before passing further judgment but for now, the Resident Evil aficionados apparently feel a little betrayed. … Final Fantasy fans can sympathize.

This week, we want to know who's picking up Twisted Metal on Valentine's day. Eat Sleep Play's long-awaited reboot is finally here and although it comes amid co-founder David Jaffe's departure, our anticipation remains high. Remember, the last time this revered series was on a console was back in 2001…and by the way, don't forget that that title – Twisted Metal Black – comes with first-run copies of Tuesday's release. So, gettin' it?

I don't think its the best move. But I wouldn't pass on a new RE just because it's puts more emphasis on action. This one looks better than the last anyway. At least cooler. As for Twisted Metal. Day 1 for me. After finally being able to get online on the demo I had a blast. The most fun I had online in quite a while. I was yellin and hollin' in all the action.

I received a text from Gamestop, turns out Twisted Metal gets a midnight release. But I'll have one by Wednesday.

Due to other priorities, I'll have to wait for price drops on both games.

I think Jaffe should have waited a few weeks to leave, it shows he has little faith in his own project and I think that will hurt its sales.

He is staying involved with TM for the next few months. The revelation of his future departure may have been ill-timed, but he hasn't abandoned the project yet.

Remember, he hasn't ever been on-site with the team in Utah (which is a large part of why he's leaving Eat Sleep Play).

That combined with the fact that I think games can, in the future, be a better medium for storytelling than anything else we have are the reasons I'm gonna hold off and wait.

If I want to advocate for games as a possible art form, I sure as heck can't support someone who thinks that artistically, games aren't the right place for expression.

Whatever his real role continues to be, all anybody will remember is that he left a week or two before release.

i think allot of fans are miffed because theres no survival horror games out, so they look back to previous series.
if there was heaps of survival horror games around then they would not really care because theres heaps to fill the void.
i really miss the series though, i remember playing so many horror games on the ps2 it just gives a sense of enjoyment nothing else can!
only game that i could call scary this gen was amnesia the dark decent.
now that scared the bejesus out of me!
condemned 2 was pretty good too, not really scary but definitely tense.
makes me wonder what monolith are doing now, they have not done a game since that project origin sh*t came out!
no i dont mean F.E.A.R 2, i refuse to give it that name since it was a totally different game slapped with the story just for the sake of sales.

as for TM i was really looking forward to it, i had a blast playing it on wednesday even got me my own sweet tooth shirt.
but nope im not getting it, if $ony wants to give us the last minute finger make us wait a month longer, and not even explain why, then thats fine ill take my money elsewhere!
plus, no one is buying it over mass effect 3!

Who cares what happens to Resident Evil 6, there's nothing we can do. Maybe a little action wouldn't hurt the game.

As for Twisted Metal, I didn't grow up playing with it and I didn't like the demo. Besides, I prefer a little game called "Dead In The Water". Now that game I grew up playing with. 🙂

According to the new poll, there's a large chunk of people not getting Twisted Metal, at least on day 1 that is. I only hope that David Jaffe's game sells as well as he wanted/expected it to. I think it was over 2 million, right?

I saw more action in RE 6, but it looked like the right kind of action. I especially liked the scene where the guy is behind waist high cover and then what happens? A big mouth thing takes his head off. That's some slick head nodding to every take cover shooter out there. Maybe these guys'll get it right this time.

well done capcom . u know how to ruin your own games. if there was 1 game i want capcom to stop making , its RE games . give that game to different developers . i lost faith on capcom after RE5.
