The final update on Journey in 2011 was encouraging: the developers had hit a "major milestone" in December.
Now, we never learned what that "major milestone" was, but the good news is that we may not have much longer to wait. Thatgamecompany's hotly anticipated PSN exclusive could be ready in March.
We had heard the game held a vague Q2 2012 launch window but March would be earlier than that estimation…and early is good in this case. The info comes from the latest issue of Game Informer (as reported at IGN ); they concluded a preview with:
"No matter how you describe [Journey], it's a title that should absolutely be on your radar as we near its release in March."
Oh, it's on our radar. After Flow and Flower , it's definitely on our radar. There's every chance that Journey could become the downloadable game of the year. And even if it falls a little shy, you have to applaud such artistic inspiration and ambition.

Flower was a masterpiece, so I'm really looking forward to this, and hope that the March release date is true!
Completely agreed with Flower being a masterpiece! One of the most beautiful, relaxing, and breath-taking games this generation.
Haven't played Flow but I read that game's great too. Can't wait for Journey.
I have a feeling Thatgamecompany will eventually become a subsidiary of Sony.

Loved Flow & Flower, so I can't wait to start on a new Journey too.
Flower was an innovative, yet simple and relaxing experience. Also excellent value for the cost. I have high hopes for this game.
Very curious to see how this turns out. I am really hoping it isn't a disappointment like Amy. Fingers crossed…
In no way will it be like Amy. Flower is unparalleled in its serene and sublime beauty. Journey only looks like it's going to push it even farther.
great news. really looking forward to this one. not just as a downloadable game this is one of my top games this year period.
Its a journey I will most definitely be taking, looking forward to it – ThatGameCompany will surely not disappoint.
