Over the years, this franchise has given baseball fans increasingly authentic virtual experiences.

There's no doubt that this year's entry will take another step in the right direction. MLB 12: The Show will be ready to go in time for the 2012 baseball season and over at the PlayStation Blog , they've revealed the official First Look trailer.

As usual, the title will be ready to go on March 6 and as you can see in this debut video, the developers are showing off some significant improvements. Move support is only the beginning; there are also the TruBroadcast presentations, more realism, new online features, and even PlayStation Vita integration. For all you fans of our national pastime, this is what you've been waiting for.

Not my national passtime, but it might as well be. I love baseball… playing, watching, and reading about it.

Looking forward to controlling the Jays to a World Series championship!

It'll be even MORE entertaining to watch them win the real 2012 World Series come October! (Just wait and see. They'll give you fantasy baseballers a run for your money!)

As usual, I'll be getting this game, for sure.

Not enough time in a day for me to watch baseball and play this. I want it.

I see this and wonder what Sony could do with a football game because Madden just isn't cutting it anymore.

There was actually a trophy last year for doing that with the Cubs.

lol!

We bluejays fans miss the Doctor. Hope you are treating him well. He's a hard worker, fierce competitor, and all-around nice guy. Very bittersweet when he lost to former bluejay teammate Carpenter. Didn't know if I should cheer or cry… still… a 1-0 pitching duel in the playoffs from former jays who both got the start of their careers in Toronto…. was a nice consolation for a club that didn't make the playoffs.

My favorite player of all time….

I got to watch him hurl for a game once from 3 rows back from the plate right in the middle (my friend works for a tobacco company… is way overpaid, and the company has season tickets there that the employees take turns using. Took me once)

The movement on those things…. just… WOW… tv simply does NOT catch the movement. It plays tricks with your eyes. The guy's incredible!

Awesome! I cannot wait for this game to hit. March 6, eh? Anyone seen any good pre-order incentives?
