For the first time ever, Twisted Metal will have an online multiplayer option when the new installment arrives on Valentine's Day.
And fans of such a feature are definitely interested in the multiplayer details, so MP1st has gathered up new info from the Twisted Metal blog, Twitter, and David Jaffe.
Firstly, the game will support a party system that comes equipped with "party chat only," which means you'll have the option of speaking only to your allies when involved in a match. This is an open connection, which means that no buttons are necessary for chat. Secondly, if another member of your party is in another game, you can switch to party mode and communicate with that person. Thirdly, we'll get a matchmaking mode along with a server list for ranked and unranked games; players with similar skill levels will play against one another.
Oh, and for all of you wondering where Spectre was…well, he's back. It has been confirmed that the character of Kamikaze has been changed to Spectre, although this appears to be a name-change only. So don't expect Spectre to have the same vehicle and special weapon as he had in TM2. Man, I still remember the whistle of that missile…it could come from anywhere and really ruin your day.
