And now, developer Klei Entertainment and publisher Electronic Arts have announced that the sequel will be available on the PlayStation Network and PC in North America on February 7, and a day later on the Xbox Live Arcade. The price tag is $9.99 and 800 Microsoft Points respectively.
Here's a gameplay description from the press release:
"Set in a pulp fiction world, Shank 2 puts players back in control of their favorite ex-mobster hitman, Shank. Klei has evolved the combat experience with precise controls, new weapons, smarter enemies, and more advanced combo techniques, all set to the backdrop of beautiful 2D art and animation. Players can put Shank's trusty arsenal of handguns, chainsaws, grenades, plus all-new weapons to use in order to protect those close to him."
The game will also feature an all-new Survival Mode, where you can team up with a buddy (online or locally) and face down swarms of goons. Veteran cartoon director Jeff Agala was on hand to help amp up the visuals, so Shank 2 "raises the bar even higher for 2D brawlers with art and animation." The first title garnered an IGF Excellence in Visual Arts nomination, and Klei lead animator, Aaron Bouthillier, received the Canadian Animator of the Year Award.

Loved the first one, excited to get my hands on this one.
Klei entertainment has made some fantastic 2D games, like Shank, I hope they bring Sugar Rush back again.

cant justify it though since ive got the dishwasher and the dishwasher vampire smile which are almost exactly the same sitting there to be finished.
