Yeah, we all thought it was coming in March. But at least we have more time to dig into other big titles, like Mass Effect 3 , Syndicate , and Twisted Metal .
Today, Rockstar Games has announced a finalized launch date for one of the most anticipated franchise installments of the generation: Max Payne 3 will release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 15 in North America and May 18 internationally. The PC version will follow on May 29 in NA and June 1 elsewhere.
Initially given an estimated March launch window, MP3 could – and by all rights, should – be one of 2012's best titles. Rockstar Games founder Dan Houser says they plan to "bring powerful storytelling back to the action-shooter genre." And as for the reason behind the delay, Take-Two chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick simply said they wanted to "ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality."
Utilizing the gritty cinematic approach found in previous entries, the game also offers "precise and fluid gunplay," along with the return of the patented bullet-time feature. For the first time in series history, multiplayer will be an option, and that ought to be awfully entertaining. Just be patient, people.

Nooooo that means GTA5 won't be out till October i bet gahhhhh
Well that works out for me. No games that come to mind right now that I want in May. Rather them get it right anyway
Too bad its delayed but Ill have Tales of Graces and Mass Effect 3!
Definitely saw this coming. Should work out better though now since Max Payne 3 won't compete against 'Mass Effect 3' and 'Silent Hill: Downpour'.
If only Rockstar announced an HD collection, that could hold us over until May…
I hope the PS3 version doesn't get botched (again).
I knew this would happen damn you R* as much as I love Max Payne I wanted GTA5 more. Could be later on now in the year November but im not holding my breath. I recon it now could be 2013.
Can't say I'm surprised. It's almost like every single Rockstar game gets pushed back. I'd be shocked if it didn't get pushed back.
To be expected. I mean, RDR and LA Noire both released in May. R* just keeping with the schedule. I'm not disappointed.
No affect on me, I'm willing to wait, I have a huge backlog.
Well, it is music to my ears World.
What is shows is developer maturation… They really want to make sure they have got the game down… not to embarrass themselves and let down their fans…
After all, Rockstar need to sustain their star power right?

To be honest I'm getting more cynical of delays, I'm not seeing evidence of the care taken in a lot of titles. Diablo 3 for instance aswell. Time to develop multiplat releases. I think in the case of Max Payne it's more to avoid market timing.
This is not a blanket statement, some companies are delaying still and making the most for quality purposes.
