I imagine graphic novel fans are probably excited.

Today, Square Enix has announced ScaryGirl , a new action/platformer based on Nathan Jurevicius' critically acclaimed graphic novel of the same name.

Developed by TikGames, the title is basically done. It'll be available on the Xbox Live Arcade on January 18 and a week later on the PlayStation Network. "ScaryGirl" was the winner of the 2009 Aurealis Award for Best Illustrated Book/Graphic Novel, and puts us in charge of an abandoned child with a tentacle arm who likes to dress as a pirate. …yeah, see? Scary. A strange man haunts her dreams and she sets out to discover that man; along the way, she'll encounter many dangers, and that tentacle arm will prove useful…

Recognizable faces from the graphic novel, including Blister the giant octopus and Bunniguru, the mysterious kung-fu rabbit, will be featured. The enemies are cute yet deadly; there are the hedgehogs in Owl Woods, the violent Goat Clan in Old Man Mountains, Hairclump spiders in Stinky Swamp, and the "clueless crossing guards around Bad Town." Quite the assortment of baddies.

We're definitely hoping for a downloadable winner. Hey, does anyone remember that kid series "Bunnicula?"  I read 'em a long time ago.
