Wait, we just heard the collective response from every single Final Fantasy fan on earth: "It damn well better be."
We have a small update on the progress of Final Fantasy X HD , which is supposed to come to both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
According to Gematsu citing a German magazine, Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase said the HD version is still early in development, but the team wants to "ensure that the remake will have the same quality as the original." It's interesting that Kitase used the German word "neuauflage," which translates to "remake," "new edition," or "new issue." We've all heard rumors about how FFX HD will use the FFXIII engine and all the major graphical elements (from character design to Aeons) will be redone from scratch. …which of course would be totally awesome, wouldn't it?
Well, do what you want. But you had best stick to that part about keeping the quality the same; i.e., don't touch the gameplay. A beautiful new HD sheen; that's all we want. Think you can handle that, S-E?
