Well, there's no doubt that it'll come down to Grand Theft Auto V and the new Call of Duty .
That's in regards to the "biggest game of 2012" award. According to what EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich told IndustryGamers , Rockstar has the edge:
"It goes without saying that GTA V will be one of the year's biggest releases, but I will take it one step farther and say GTA V will be 2012's biggest release. Don't get me wrong, Call of Duty will undoubtedly be huge, as it is every year and it may even grow, but if I had to call what will be a photo finish race, I will go with GTA V."
That might not be out of the realm of possibility. GTAIV sold upwards of 20 million copies and although Modern Warfare 3 will ultimately sell 25 or 26 million (as previously projected), we're still hazy on next year's Call of Duty . Nothing is hazy about GTAV; it's going to be absolutely gigantic and the fans have been waiting for a while .
You know, it doesn't feel like April 2008 was a long time ago but in a world where "annualization" is becoming popular, it certainly feels like a long time, doesn't it?
