We knew EA would give us the first Battlefield 3 expansion, Back to Karkand, this month.

But until now, we didn't know when. As announced at the Battlefield 3 Blog , the DLC will drop on December 6 for the PlayStation 3.

Remember, EA and Sony have a little one-week exclusivity deal on DLC for the popular shooter, so Xbox 360 and PC players won't get this expansion until December 13. This pack features four maps from previous titles in the franchise, all of which have been remade with the much-vaunted Frostbite 2.0 engine. If you purchased the Limited Edition at launch, you can nab this piece of DLC for free; if not, expect to shell out the standard $14.99.

Man, no wonder so many more 360 owners bought Modern Warfare 3 ; Activision's deal with Microsoft on timed DLC exclusivity is just such a big draw. …I mean, I'm guessing. I really have no idea. Couldn't possibly care less one way or the other…just reportin' the news here.

It's only a week though, isn't MW a month? That's a long time in shooter world.

@Vallarta

Two weeks is hardly a month. Not everyone buys every game the day it comes out.

Based on my coverage of SR3 and my experience with SR2 and fan feedback on SR3, and now the reviews, I feel it is a just assumption when it comes to my personal tastes. I KNOW I will love Uncharted 3 as well, but I haven't bought that yet either. As I have lots of games to play it behooves me to wait for some price drops before getting into them myself.

However, information is your friend, and based on what we have I can say with confidence that something I have not yet played will be better (to me of course) than some other game I have played. Follow me?

I'm glad I'm getting this free because it's hardly worth $15 imo.

I don't know of any add on content that has ever been worth more then $5.99 as far as shooters go. I am getting it for free also but really for 15 bucks I would like to see 2 more maps and 2-4 more co-op missions. I would love to see some more co-op missions not just for this game but MW2(best part of the game) and MW3(should I ever get it)

My older brother is in the military and until last Christmas I had not seen him in 3 years(Green Beret always somewhere) but we were able to get together one night(while he was in Iraq no less) and play the spec ops missions on MW2 and it was the most fun I have ever had playing a video game period. Especially the c130 mission and the Gunship gunner mission.

im not saying its worth the 15 bucks (and really no one can say if it is or not yet since its not out) but keep in mind, these maps arent exactly CoD size maps

DICE please for the love of god give us some new co-op missions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
new maps for MP is all well and good, but if you want people to stop trading in the game then your going to need to offer other things then just new MP maps!

… no worries. Getting it for free but has anyone played wake island? Its awesome!!! Such a great map!!! Anyway. I can't wait to play the new game mode conquest assault. Sounds fun and the harrier jets that hover are going to be awesome plain and simple. So will the desert buggies.

I can't get over how they'll have DLC out before they've even fixed the damn Voice chat or keeping Squads together.
