Okay, it seems the patch PlayStation 3 gamers need is just around the corner.

The US has yet to see it but according to Eurogamer , the much-needed update is available now in some parts of Europe. The 92MB patch brings the game to version 2.01 and apparently fixes some of the severe issues reported by frustrated players.

Bethesda PR boss Pete Hines said the patch will improve performance for "long-term play on PS3." As some of you already know, if the save file gets too large (usually between 6 and 10MB), the game starts to suffer from serious lag and texture problems and eventually becomes a gigantic annoyance. Early feedback for the new patch seems positive, though, so here's hoping the update arrives in North America ASAP.

By the way, if you're wondering, these issues can affect the Xbox 360 version if the game was installed to the hard drive. But that's optional; it isn't optional with the PS3 version, so players have no choice but to deal with the ongoing problems.
