The biggest game of the year is almost here.

And if you just can't wait to play it and you're a bona fide Call of Duty veteran, you should drive to your local participating Wal-Mart.

On Monday, November 7 at 8 p.m., 2,700 Wal-Mart locations around the country will host Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 tournaments. Furthermore, with every purchase of specially-marked 20-packs of Mountain Dew, gamers can earn "Mega XP" time, which is 90 minutes of double XP. Some Wal-Mart stores will also host midnight launch events, when the hotly anticipated game goes on sale at 12 a.m. on November 8. Said Wal-Mart senior vice president of entertainment, Seong Ohm:

" Walmart is the destination for all gamers this holiday season. When it comes to entertainment, Walmart offers unbelievable prices on the widest assortment of gaming devices from brand name consoles to new releases. "

Tournament prizes will include a copy of the game in question. For more information, check out the store's GameCenter , where you can find out if the Wal-Mart closest to you is holding a MW3 tournament on Monday.

My street is going to be full of sheep come November 7. There's a Future Shop, Best Buy, EB Games and Microplay all having Midnight launches. I don't know if Canadian Wal-Marts will be doing the same but it would not surprise me. Everybody and their brother unzip their pants when they hear the words "Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3".

Funny how the minimum specs of the last 4 games are virtually the same. Get ready for another Xbox 360 port job.

Mountain Dew, the online gamers drink of choice to get those few extra hours of gaming in before the sun comes up.

I prefer Dr. Pepper myself for my online sessions 🙂

I'm a coke man myself. I really only need it for emergencies though, such as I'm close to finishing a game and want to get to the end before bed.

All the cool teens sip on Energy drinks like Red Bull. Maybe that's why so many of them are annoying online.

No, I think them being teens, or lower, is the main reason.

Wow! Walmart and Call Of Duty together, what a spectacular crap sandwich. I can't stand either franchise, lol.

Playing MW3 early is something that I don't care about in the slightest

Too many better games to play

If you want to play Modern Warfare 3 before everyone else, put Call of Duty 4 back in the console.
