How The Uncharted 3 Actors Come To Life In The Game

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will be ready to go on Tuesday. You're getting it. You know you are.

But just to pique your curiosity even further, here's a new behind-the-scenes video, which was revealed at the PlayStation Blog . It deals with the motion-capture technology involved in this epic production, and it's very interesting.

The guys behind this amazing process (Taylor Kurosaki and Arne Meyer) talk about how the actors had to deal with various scenarios, and actors Nolan North (Nathan Drake) and Emily Rose (Elena Fisher) weigh in as well. Check it out.

Games really have become a lot like movies, haven't they? And who else would love to be involved in the process in some capacity?

I still find it funny when they do those grunts, especially Nolan with the last one.

Wow, it's so interesting how close video games are getting to movies. Voice acting/acting in general is the profession I'm thinking of pursuing, so learning about this kind of thing really intrigues me.

I have a degree in theatre if you ever have any questions. The type of training/education you choose should depend on the type of work you want to do. As in, do you want just theatre training… screen acting… both… and do you also want training in directing, producing, stage management, house management, props creation, set design… etc etc etc. or just acting? or just the tech stuff?

PSN is the same as the user name if you ever want to drop a line!

It's awesome that games like U3 & LA Noire are getting more & more lifelike & towards reality.

BTW, they could've saved a ton of money on those sound grunts, just by taping me on my throne when I'm constipated.

If there is EVER and Uncharted without Elena I would go berserk.
I'd be like that Bellhop from Hot Tub Time Machine who lost his arm.
Unapproachable. For days I would be unapproachable.

This is great, what a process! Like BikerSaint said with U3 and LA Noire being so life like you can just see the future of gaming here. Very impressed and you are right Ben, it has piqued my interest even further and I didn't even think that was possible at this point! 🙂

When I was in high school and was broke, I spent a Saturday (was an early snowy day) going around my neighborhood shoveling driveways for $10.

I was way too involved in other activities at school, like sports and band, to have a job… but I -NEEDED- to have the newest release… "Final Fantasy VIII".

Ended up taking me longer than I thought, but after working most of the morning and all afternoon, I made enough that the same evening, my mom drove me to walmart, and I beat the first disk that same night! LOL!

Anyways, my point is, where there's a will, there's a way, my friend! And when you basically EARN the game like that, it's even sweeter!!!

Are you a student? It's Autumn, maybe you have neighbors that need leaves raked? Or if your further south, lawns mowed, gardens watered, etc. etc.?

Or maybe you aren't a student anymore and just have no cashola to bust out on games.

Either way, there's always a way if you want it bad enough. ;P
