Insomniac's new multiplatform project, set to be delivered by EA, is the recently revealed Overstrike . But what else might they be working on?
Well, we're not really sure right now, but as found by Siliconera , the talented developer (responsible for the likes of Resistance and Ratchet & Clank ) might be cranking on a new project that involves…well, space things.
Insomniac has filed trademarks for "Space Beasts" and "Galaxy Beasts" in the US; both trademarks are for "video game software and online video games." Now, we should probably just assume that both names are for the same work-in-progress, but is it another multiplatform title? Or is the team making another exclusive game for Sony? And who else is thinking this might have something to do with the PlayStation Vita?
Insomniac is definitely one developer that should deliver a top-tier Vita game when the unit launches in February. And unfortunately, given the disappointing Resistance 3 sales, it seems unlikely that Resistance 4 will ever happen, so…
It's possible one of those is a game for Vita and the other one for the PS3.
Either way it does sound interesting.
R3 sales shud have been better and i want R4.
Maybe PS4 exclusive? I also want a vita game made by a PlayStation 3 developer and not just a psp developer which is given the right to the franchise.
Maybe it'll be for Insomniac Click. The titles don't make whatever it is sound like a console title, IMO.
Space Beasts? Oh dear.
Awfully generic, I know, but probably just a place holder. Insomniac is usually more creative when it comes to naming their titles, often lacing it with innuendo ("Going Commando", "Up Your Arsenal", "Quest For Booty").
I'm really hoping for a full blown R&C title for the Vita.
i doubt it will be a ps3 or vita exclusive, i cant see them ever going back to exclusive after the lacklustre sales every title has been seeing.
i feel so bad for insomniac, they make fantastic games but never get the recognition and success they deserve!
while others spew out the same sh*t year in, year out, and get lauded to the top of the crystal staircase and sleep on piles of cashola!
I find it funny how you can say Resistance 3 sucks one month, then the next say how its too bad that IG isn't getting good sales for their "fantastic games."
Mind you, I agree with what you're saying, but you gotta work on your consistency.
