Plan on getting the PlayStation Vita when it launches in a few weeks time?
Well, then how's about getting your library ready? As noticed by a NeoGAF forumite , no less than five Vita titles are already available for download on the PlayStation Store.
They're sort of hidden (you have to search for them), but they're there. It starts with the highly anticipated Uncharted: Golden Abyss , which can be yours now for $49.99. That hasn't been discounted – we were told digital copies of Vita games would be a little cheaper than their physical counterparts – but maybe it will be in the future. Other titles include Hot Shots Golf: World International ($35.99), Wipeout 2048 ($35.99), ModNation Racers: Road Trip ($26.99), and the PSN-only Super Stardust Delta ($9.99). I want Hot Shots so bad, damnit.
If you want, you can download the ones you want and then transfer them to the Vita when you get it. Talk about early availability!
I want Uncharted real bad, but ill wait for the Call of Duty Bundle…….If SONY is smart enough to have it bundled.
I guess the thumbs down means you guys want the VITA to FAIL right ???
I dont know of any other game that would have the VITA Sold Out at all retailers.
Plus it would be the best selling game on the Vita if it has Online MP 🙂
If a system can only survive by having Call of Duty on it then yes I'd much rather have that system fail. Call of Duty is the black plague of the videogame industry.
You honestly think the Vita needs Call of Duty or it fails?
Do we not already know that the VITA is the ABSOLUTE most advanced handheld ever created. Right now it IS all about sales. If a COD title on the VITA generates sales then what is wrong with that. I do not think it should live or die at the hands of COD but the more the merrier. The more VITAS out in the world the more likelihood that developers will continue to support it. Don't like COD? Don't buy it. I know many people who are also waiting for COD to hit the VITA.
I only wonder how the ACTI/SOFT relationship will affect this game. People purchasing COD on VITA will more than likely look into purchasing PS3 as well. Trouble in paradise?
I got a chance to try the Vita last week. The peice of hardware was pretty slick–well designed and attractive. The demo unit had Uncharted and WipeOut. I tried to laucnh WipeOut but it didn't work =/ must've been a bug or something. I played a tiny bit of Uncharted. It seemed cool.
Anyway, I'll get a Vita… eventually. I'm in no hurry. I also have a lot of great games on my PSP-2000 that need love'n.
I'm getting a wifi vita uncharted and gravity rush in 2 weeks along with a 8gb memory card. I still rather have physical games then digital so I will pass on the downloads.
I'll have a Vita on launch day if it kills me…lol
32GB memory FTW!
I think I'm going to get my first few games on the new media, so Uncharted and Wipeout 2048 at least, will be bought physically. The rest will be downloads. Plus I already have more than a dozen excellent games waiting to upload from my PS3 to the Vita once it arrives, and that doesn't include the PS1 classics.
We think alike, this worries me.
LOL, it doesn't worry me.
I would rather wait till the Vita is out or download the Vita games the day before the Vita (u buy) comes out. Don't like golf I think it's a boring a** sport, no offense to the people who like it but Hot Shots looks pretty cool.

lol, Golf? Are you kidding me, I'd rather watch pain dry than actually play real golf, or worse still watch it on TV. But HSG is like someone took the pure mechanics of golf and removed all the stuffy, dry, boring crap and replaced it with cute, anime inspired goodness and fun. I love playing HSG, but I could never play the real thing.

I come from a family of golf players and trust you me – that is one dull sport. And frustratingly hard too.
But golf computer games are very often fun. Even more fun are those crazy mini-golf games with all the creative and weird different holes.

i HATE golf, but for some reason i just cant stop playing mina golf 6!
god dam it, its like angry birds the more you play the worse it gets.
Meh i just dont see it. I haven't cared for a handheld system since the Gameboy Color. Since then all i wanna do is game on consoles.
Then I can only suggest that you need to get out more. The point of a handheld system is not to replace a home console, it's to add to it and let you take your game on the road. This is something that Sony is pushing much more heavily with Vita, the ability to share saves between the home console game and the Vita version, and the interoperability of Vita/PS3 games. That doesn't even touch the possibilities of remote access to your PS3 using your Vita.
I use my PSP all the time, whenever I'm stuck in a waiting room, or on public transportation, or when someone else get's to do the driving. It's great when I'm away visiting family or on a trip of any kind. Hotels don't tend to have PS3s in each room… Even at work at lunchtime, the PSP comes in very handy if I am not browsing this site and others. There are innumerable reasons and instances supporting the use of a handheld device.
Oh, I know lot's of people say – but you have your phone for games. Oh, really? I can play Uncharted on my phone? I don't think so. I have a nice smartphone, I'll be getting a new one this spring, it's a phone, it get's used for browsing and navigation sometimes, but a gaming device it is not. If I am going to burn through the battery on something to play Uncharted, I'd rather it wasn't the emergency communication device I have in my pocket.

I was going to get a Vita on launch day, but some financial issues will keep me from getting it for at least 5 months. Sucks because the system looks great.
Not a huge problem though, I've yet to play Peace Walker, SMT: P3P and Tactics Ogre on my PSP.
Either way, I try to avoid digital distribution as much as I can, so I wouldn't get these on the store anyway.

I hear ya Ben. Hot Shots will be my first Vita purchase for sure. HSG is one of my favourite franchises. And, unlike some my fellow PSXE'ers, I quite enjoy real golfing too.
Hopefully my Vita arrives on the 17th considering the First Edition pre-orders are supposed to ship a week early. That's gonna be a looooong weekend if my Vita doesn't come Friday.
Just noticing how Amazon has Wipeout 2048 for 29.99 when it is 39.99 everywhere else.
Indeed! Engage credit card!
Being an Amazon Prime member has saved me thousands of dollars, if only I had invested in the company back in the 90s.
I'm taking a wait and see with vita downloads. I'm not going download only until sony drops the price on their memory cards.
If Sony gets the major players like Call of Duty, Madden,Mass effect, Bioshock and a verison of Skyrim. Then i can't see the Ps Vita failing.
**I think that Call of Duty is our "Monster hunter" for the western market.**

they release a call of duty ps vita sales will jump insanely.
I've always wondered what a D1P for something like this would be. Unfortunately I won't be home for it. But that's okay b/c I need some reviews before I make any purchases. I'm being cautious on a few other wise fails safe titles.
fiugures.
US gets all the bundles, everyone else gets the finger!
US gets the early access bundle everyone else gets the finger!
US gets the vita hill stations set up so people can try it weeks before it releases, everyone else gets the finger!
and now the US gets the games online first too.
sigh.
I'm going to pay off my vita tomorrow. 3G + 8gb and game is good enough for me. I think I will just get Uncharted on physical media, and wipeout on amazon if it is still cheaper. That is about all I can afford this month, unless there is some kind of free PS+ stuff for Vita.
COD would really help sell Vitas sell, so I have no problem with that.
