Some wondered if Minecraft would still come to the Vita, what with Microsoft purchasing developer Mojang.
But have no fear; the hugely popular title will indeed still grace Sony's handheld, and it's just around the corner. As announced over at the PlayStation Blog , Minecraft for Vita releases on October 14 in the US. It'll be available the following day in Europe.
The game will retail for $19.99 and there are several Cross Buy locations for those who want the block-building experience on multiple Sony devices. For instance, if you pick up the digital Vita version, you can download the PS3 version for free and snag the PS4 version for only $5. If you've already got Minecraft on PS3 (in physical or digital format), you'll be able to automatically download the Vita iteration free of charge.
Right now, though, only the PS3 and Vita versions are eligible for Cross Buy promotions. Sorry, PS4 owners.
