Bet you never thought you'd get an "infographics video game."

Developer Digital Dreams has confirmed that Metrico will launch for the PlayStation Vita on August 5. It's a minimalist side-scrolling platformer that is more…academic than other games.

Basically, players navigate through a series of mazes within pie charts, bar graphs, and other visual representations of statistics. The protagonist can change the surrounding world by running and jumping at certain moments, and more complex factors like percentage indicators must be tackled as time goes on. This is probably more fun than anything you'll do in any statistics class, so you might as well give it a shot.

It's a really nifty idea for a game, even if it's not exactly a teaching tool. Check out the trailer:
