I'm not sure I'd own a white console, but a white portable is kinda nice.
If you've been considering a PlayStation Vita purchase, you might want to consider nabbing the Crystal White model that just popped up at Amazon . The price is $200 and prior to this separate release, the white handheld was only available as part of the Assassin's Creed III: Liberation bundle. The Crystal White Vita was, however, released by itself in Japan.
That being said, don't forget that (as cited by GameSpot ) GameStop is still selling the aforementioned bundle for $200. Obviously, that's the better deal 'cuz you get a game with it but who knows? Maybe you have no interest in that game. For the record, the white Vita available at Amazon is the old model, which featured an OLED screen instead of the LCD screen it now has.
I'd like to see more colors for the Vita, wouldn't you? Maybe that would help boost sales a little.
Man I wish I could haven't gotten is one instead. Glossy black devices always get so visibly dirty. I feel like I have to wash my hands before picking up my vita and Wii U.

The interest is there, but the interest is higher for the 3DS and I don't own one yet. Release better games (especiall RPGs) and I'll buy one.
Honestly as sweet as the Vita is, I've spent waaaaaay more time playing my 3DS. it just has better games and despite what some say, playing games in 3D is quite fun. I never turn the 3D off. I own several games for both devices but I have yet to finish one on the Vita. Even ones I really liked like Gravity Rush. I've finished just about all the games I own on 3DS.

Vita is an amazing piece of hardware, and for a PlayStation superfan like me it's awesome having a bunch of PS One games in one place, along with some HD remasters (MGS Collection on the go? I literally sleep better knowing it's in there when I travel 🙂 And it's SO fun to start a game like Guacamelee on PS3 and then continue playing on Vita, and then switch back, etc.
But 3DS is, by comparison, far more essential. TONS of amazing games for that thing, I own one and don't have nearly enough time to play them all. Super Mario 3D Land the Ocarina of Time remake in particular are just essential, and two of the best handheld games I've ever played.
Yes, being able to have a nice library of PS1 classics and even some PSP games all on one device is excellent. I spent more time playing those games than actual Vita games. I only wish they offered a larger storage card. I have the biggest one available and it's full already.
Telly, of you haven't yet, get A Link Between Worlds. It's the best game on the 3DS at the moment.

as the proud owner of this lovely white Vita, I can assure you it is indeed gorgeous. If you don't have this handheld yet (and have a few hundred bucks burning to spend) I highly recommend picking one up. It's a lovely, lovely device.
You know what the best thing is about owning this white Vita?
If you play in in the dark, the blue LED light from the PS button creates a faint glowing blue ring around the front periphery of the entire Vita due to show-through!

Yeah, like how Europe and especially Japan get spoiled for choice on color options, while North America gets screwed on a continuous basis!

I am going to have to buy another Vita before the new model is released in the US. I need that OLED screen. My Vita is fine it's just 2 or 3 yrs it may not be. I guess I could get it repaired as well. Not sure I like the white because it always turns yellowish over time especially the rubber. Maybe I am wrong about the White Vita, anyone know?
The matte surfaces may turn yellow but the glossy face surface shouldn't. Just wash your hands before every play. 🙂 that's how I try to keep my white devices clean. It's worked out well so far.
Good point, but some times my son picks it up to start playing Tearaway. I tell him to wash his hands but we all know how well that works out! LOL! Thanks
Indeed. I keep some electronic cleaner and a microfiber cloth near by for when that happens. Haha
Nice to see Sony will be giving us Mericans some colored consoles now. I'd love to see a white or silver ps4 sometime this year or next.
