If you loved Gravity Rush for the PlayStation Vita, you're probably intrigued by the developer's new project.
Team Gravity's latest game was teased at the Tokyo Game Show, and we know it'll be heading to other regions outside Japan. And though we don't have any details on the title just yet, the studio's creative director, Keiichiro Toyama, has given us an encouraging update.
During a recent 4Gamer interview (as translated by Dual Shockers ), Toyama said "things are going smoothly:"
"The team is preparing and the systems are being put in place for the next title, and things are going smoothly. 2014 seems to be a year that will be dedicated to production in earnest, but I’ll work hard to meet everyone’s expectations!"
Gravity Rush is indeed one of the finest titles for the Vita produced thus far, so this team has the necessary chops to deliver another quality product. We're also hoping it's specifically designed for the Vita, just because that's a piece of hardware that could really use another exclusive AAA game. Let's hope Team Gravity comes forward with an official unveiling soon.
So are they working on something else besides Gravity Rush 2? If they are that will be awesome. The trailer for Gravity Rush 2 at TGS was short but, it showed lots of improvements.
Rather see a PS4 game.
Considering that there are even two Vita Titles nominated as 2013's GOTY (granted one of them is multi/cross-platform), I don't think I'd be off-base by suggesting Vita's library is showing steady progress, replete with AAA titles, especially for a handheld, which by it's nature would be secondary to consoles for most gamers and developers.
I have to agree with you regarding it's library coming along (though I've never had a problem with it's library of games).
It's a common enough statement to make regarding the Vita needing more AAA titles but honestly, as a Vita owner and owning the few AAA games that are available, people only think they want AAA games but they're not very well suited in the same way as smaller titles are for commuting and portable gaming in general. AAA games are great for the big consoles. Sure there are some good AAA titles for the Vita but they're not the best experiences imo available for the Vita.
I also have to ask what are the two games you're referring to for GOTY and who's GOTY? This kinda news makes me happy.

Totally agree. High production value games like Uncharted and Gravity Rush are best enjoyed when not commuting (or in areas with less ambient noise), and are less pickup&play then, say, something like Wipeout 2048 or Sonic All Stars racing. GOTY is "game of the year" (Tearwaway and Dragon's Crown are nominees here).

Glad to hear things are moving along, I can't wait for more info on the new project. I absolutely loved Gravity Rush!
Gravity Rush…my gosh…I can't tell you how much I adore that game…the soundtrack, world, characters, FUNNESS (not a word, I know) of the gameplay…JUST PERFECT.
Kind of like the game you'd play on a clear day with perfect weather while seeing the sun slowly set.
OH…gosh just perfect.
