Last week, I wondered if Square Enix had flat-out forgotten about Final Fantasy X HD .

Well, it has finally resurfaced , albeit briefly. During the recent PlayStation Vita press conference in Japan – during which a price cut was announced for the portable – Square Enix showed off FFX HD running on the Vita.

It isn't much but it shows close-ups of Tidus and Yuna, apparently focusing in on the upgraded detail and gloss applied to the character models. It's obviously running on Sony's new handheld because the presentation focused on the Vita and besides, at the end of the short presentation, the dude's holding the handheld and talking about FFX HD. When it was first announced, the game was confirmed for the PS3 and Vita so this does make sense.

Man, that music takes me back. Loved FFX.

Great news! Maybe they saw the other article you wrote and started to get the ball rolling. It's a definite d1p for me. All we need now is a release date.
Btw is it cross buy?

This brought a tear to my eye. Glad to see there's been some slight progress with this. Although Yuna looks tired. Maybe i was looking at it wrong or something.

Awesome, it looks nice and crisp. Guess I'll keep waiting to replay it. I bet it's gonna cost a lot of dough though.

So, is this an implicit confirmation that the Vita is now the Playstation of choice for future JRPG development? 😉

Sadly I never finished this back in the day. Im getting this for my ps3 as long as they don't price it at like 60 bucks or something. I feel it should be 20. 30 as an absolute maximum.

Also hurry up on it se! And vs13, and localise type-0, bravely default, dq7 3d, DQ monsters 3d remake, etc.. se sure sucks at finishing games they announce in a timely fashion.

It's looking great. A lot of great memories from playing this game. I can't wait to get it when it's released.

Now this is out of the way, I wonder what's going on with Versus 13..

I think this will be around 39.99 like all other Vita/HD games. I think that's pretty fair. At least for one full game that is getting an overhaul. The character models were never this detailed in the original game. :O

Graphics for this game mean nothing to me. I got so bored of FFX even though it's my 3rd favorite game of all time, There is only 1 way I will purchase FFX HD. They have to release the International version in NA. My second greatest regret in my gaming life is never battling the Dark Aons and Pennance. 🙁

Alright, so the game isn't (completely) vaporware! Great! Can we have it -this- year please?

I thought they were going to be using FFXIII's engine to redo all the graphics? This… doesn't look anywhere near that detailed. I view this as a good thing, since as I said in last week's thread, that is completely unnecessary and would likely take too damn long. The game is already taking much longer than it should have.

While I'll be happy with a straight port of FFX:International, I do hope we can get an enhanced port. I'd like some new abilities (4-cut please!) and some new uber enemies to fight. They've got models and enemies from FFX-2 that aren't doing anything, how about incorporating them in a tower or something so we can fight them (since I assume there will be no FFX-2 HD). I'd like a new game plus, though I don't know how well it would work with FFX's linear setup.

Highlander: re: PSV JRPG platform

I certainly hope so! Looking back, that's what happened to the PSP for me: Aside from Dissidia, I've played only JRPGs (Kingdom Hearts BBS, Final Fantasy Tactics, Crisis Core, etc) on it. I would gladly get a PSV solely to play JRPGs, especially if they do tandem PS3+PSV releases (I would probably only get the PSV version, unless they pull a SOny All-Stars and allow you to get both for the price of one). I generally don't have time to invest long hours into games any more, so being able to start and stop at any time (seriously, ALL CONSOLES need to be able to sleep at will now; there's no excuse ofr not being able to do so any more) is not just nice, it's pretty much mandatory.
