PlayStation Plus On Vita: First Details Revealed Next Week

We've all assumed PlayStation Plus would come to Sony's new portable. The only question has been- "Okay, when ?"

It seems we'll have the answer very soon. According to TheSixthAxis citing SCEE PlayStation Store and Plus Content Manager Chris Howe, details on Plus for Vita should be here next week.

Many believe Plus on the Vita will be similar to the premium service on the PS3, so we can expect discounts, free games, early access to betas, cloud storage, etc. Howe added that we might see another feature for Pus in November; it would be part of the "PlayStation Presents" promotion that aims to bring previously unknown titles into the spotlight. But the big news will obviously involve the Vita because the more robust that unit is, the better chance it has of selling.

Plus has proven to be quite the value for most gamers, so to have it on the go would be a definite…uh…plus.

I've been wondering if plus subscriptions for the Vita are a separate charge or if your membership covers both systems. I'm sure I'll find out next week.

No, it's been confirmed that a normal Plus subscription will include Vita and PS3 content. Similar to how they used to provide PSP Games and Minis a while ago.

Thanks Nix. That's a relief for the wallet.

I hope they blow it out of the water. I may never need to spend more than $50 a year to play on my PS3 and Vita.

Not that I'm necessarily objecting to it, but Sony is giving a lot of stuff away for free through Plus, CrossPlay and so on. I wonder how they are continuously making all these deals. Seems like they'd be losing a lot more money than they are.

Excited for vita plus to start. Since I almost always wait for a game to price drop before I buy, my vita collection is limited at the moment.

Even though I no longer have a Vita, Sony also putting the + on it should definitely be a + for me too.

I'll just D/L some of the free and discounted Vita games, so I'll have them all ready in my queue for when I can afford another Vita.

cant wait to see plus on the vita, hopefully they will choose some less popular titles for it.
dont give us uncharted golden abyss, everyone who has a vita bought that the day they got it!
one thing i hate about plus, they always put the most popular games on there.
crysis 2 for instance, i mean come on EVERYONE bought crysis 2!
why not put a game on there that not everyone knows about and one that would really benefit from it, for example enslaved.

I belive they put most popular games, because those games had outsold their budget and if you give those games for free you dont lose anything( you will gain new fans, who will be anticipating sequel or new projects from this developer), but if you give for free not very popular game and developer will recieve only 1 or half percent of this game, because Sony made it free for the system, then it is not very wise and logical. Not popular games need more attention from media and critics.

exactly the point though, it would generate more interest for the game so others who dont have plus might go buy it.
or next time when a sequel comes out they just gained a new customer.
no point offering free games that everyone has!

Sony is putting the cart before the horse, again. Get the games developed and released first, the worry about a promotion. You want new fans? Release new games…
