The PSP is a great system for RPG fanatics, so it makes perfect sense to bring that same role-playing support to the new PlayStation Vita.
Atlus has announced Persona 4 Golden , a remastered version of the critically acclaimed Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 for Sony's new portable; it'll launch in North America this fall.
Citing an overall Metacritic score of 90 and a bunch of awards from various sources, Atlus maintains that Persona 4 is "one of the finest games ever made," as it provides gamers with a great story, engaging combat, and the depth and micromanagement that RPG fans adore. Now, the second-highest rated PSP title ever will be expanded upon: The graphics have been overhauled to take advantage of the Vita's brilliant 5" OLED display, there's 1.5 times the voiced dialogue, and we'll even get a new online dungeon rescue feature that lets players call on other players for assistance when the chips are down.
Atlus will even pack it with a bunch of new content, such as new Personas to find, new story events, and a host of "fan suggested tweaks and changes." As the press release says-
"Persona 4 Golden is far more than just a handheld version of an all-time classic: it's the best way to experience it yet!

Dang it, I have resisted the Persona series so far…this makes it difficult to resist further.
I didn't think Persona would be all to special…until I started playing and got addicted within the first hour of play! Persona 3 and 4 are incredible JRPGs that you shouldn't miss out on! Until this comes, I recommend getting P3 for your Vita.
Why would any JRPG fan resist Persona?
Get persona 3 on psn. Its my first persona game and its amazing.
Thank you Atlus, the only thing my Vita is missing is a good rpg in the collection. Now I just wish I could get it sooner than fall.
Its good to finally see a jrpg so I hope Tales Of Innocence R will be released in the u.s. too. P4 is indeed awesome but I can't justify dropping 400 to play it on vita. I might buy P4 Arena. Atlus PERSONA 5 its time!

Playing P3 on PSP right now, I played some of P4 on PS2 but never finished. The article suggest P4 is on PSP but I haven't heard anything about that?
At least all this Persona news bodes well for Persona 5 this gen.
Now I think I may have to break down and finally get a PS Vita…. :/
Tough luck for my wallet.
And THAT solidified my decision to buy a Vita this year. Thank you Atlus.
Finally… I knew they had to bring it to the US… I've been waiting for this game to get a Vita…
