It's yet another interesting game for the PlayStation Vita; "interesting" due to a new feature that encourages practical creativity…
According to Andriasang , Sega has announced that the Vita version of Monkey Ball (entitled "Super Monkey Ball Tokumori Asobita!" in Japan) will release on June 14. Those of you familiar with the addictive franchise's gameplay will know what to expect.
But this new portable iteration includes motion controls, rear touch pad control, two-player co-op, and something pretty cool: The ability to take pictures with the Vita's high-def camera, and use those photos to generate custom levels. This can be done in Stage Edit mode and it sounds pretty fun…"I'm gonna take a picture of that…I can definitely use that in my level." For more information and some media, feel free to check out the game's official website . No word on whether or not players outside Japan will get their hands on this one.
But that idea definitely needs to make it into other games that boast level editors. We just wonder how seamless the integration of our photos will be in our custom levels; we're hoping for something pretty dynamic.

Great to hear. This is the perfect type of game for a platform like Vita.

So you're gonna be taking a lot of pictures of monkey's balls??? LMAO
LMAO!
LBP did this…
Just wanted to add that the vita does not have a high definition camera. I believe the camera's resolution is VGA 640×480, regardless of which one of the two cameras you use to take the photos.
Even on the Vita's beautiful OLED screen with a resolution of 960×544, the photo quality could be described as "grainy".

im really starting to wonder who $ony is trying to market the vita too.
we need more games you would expect on a high tech gaming device, and less crappy kids games you would expect to see on IOS!
