The PlayStation Vita appears to be going over well with just about everyone.
Three weeks after the launch of Sony's new portable in North America and Europe, and gamers everywhere are going, "…hey, this thing is pretty damn cool ." It seems we've got plenty of those fans here at PSXE, too.
The vast majority of those who voted in our most recent poll have said the Vita is a top-notch handheld, and it's everything they could've hoped for. Of course, every new piece of hardware has its detractors, and while some will still make plenty of valid points (yes, it should definitely come with a memory card, for instance), most consumers seem plenty satisfied. Analysts are saying that if Sony manages to drop the price this year, the new portable should have a very bright future. That wouldn't surprise us in the least; bring on the awesome software!
This week, we just have to focus on Quantic Dream's unbelievable tech demo , which really caught fire in forums and communities around the Internet. However, some are saying they're a little disappointed because Kara doesn't really have anything to do with the studio's new project; the character Kara isn't involved, at least. But shouldn't the sheer production values impress you…? Let us know.
Yes, I'm aware the poll isn't showing up on the main page. Getting that fixed soon I think.

I'm very happy with my Vita.
But already it seems that my 8GB card wasn't enough after D/L'ing most of the demos, 3 albums, & a few apps.
I haven't found a fast way to delete games or some stuff off the memory card right from the Vita, rather than having to transfer to my PC or PS3 & then deleting the files.
So does anyone know of a way to delete game demo's or apps right from the Vita itself??????
You can delete them from the Vita itself, BikerSaint. On the screen where the demo/game is, press and hold any blank area of the screen for a few seconds until it lets you move your icons around. When you get there, you would notice that each icon has a small bubble with "…" inside them. Click on the bubble next to the item you want to delete and you will get the option to do just that.
I hope that helps!

zettai,
Thanks, that worked perfectly!!!!
Man, I had been all over the manual & quick-reference guide trying to find a way to delete games & apps right from the Vita, with no luck, until your 411 help tip.
Hmmmm, I'm wondering why they did it that way for games, when some of the other stuff you can delete right from the little bottom right/sided 1/2 bubble.
Just seems strange to me to have 2 different deletion methods.
You're welcome Biker. I thought that too and it's honestly not very intuitive. I actually just discovered that by accident. I was on the Vita's main screen when my friend started talking to me. I did not take me finger away from the screen since it was on a free area anyway. That's how I found out about it. LOL
I am impressed by the Kara tech demo and while I would definitely want to know what happens to her after she has been shipped off, I cannot really hold anything against Quantic Dream if they decided not to do anything with it other than just being a tech demo. They made it a point to let everyone know that it does not have anything to do with the new game they're working on, so my expectations have been properly set from the word go.
That said, it would be amazing if they'll do something with Project Kara as it's just brilliant.
I really like my Vita. It has definitely changed my mind about portable gaming. I've been playing a few demos and a couple of games that I bought from psn. Escape Plan was one of the games I bought and it turned out to be a cool game.
The Kara tech demo was good, but I want to see what game Quantic Dream is working on.
Whats with the augmented reality part of the commercial where there's a silver fireman fighting a chimera?
From what i seen with the Mortal Kombat AR is that you can take a live or photo shot(not sure) and fight with THAT in the background.
i think ive made my feelings on the vita quite clear.
oh forgot to mention mines been replaced.
yup, 419 dollars and IT CANT EVEN LAST 2 WEEKS!
unbelievable!
i was at a party friday night took some poor photos with it, and for some reason it got stuck on the saving screen.
i just popped it to the side and let it take 20 hours to save a single photo.
next morning i wake up and the blue PS button was flashing rapidly, i try to turn the thing on and it wont turn on.
no matter what you do the stupid thing wont turn on!
put it on charge and the light went orange so show it was charging but it still refused to turn on.
took it back to EB and got a replacement, the manager seemed really pissed said this was the 14th vita they had to replace since launch!
lucky they had a new shipment of them the start of the week otherwise i would of been without one till they got more stock.
bit of a worry, 419 bucks and it cant even last 2 weeks!
theres far too big a gap between release and the next influx of games too.
i mean theres nothing coming out till may for crying out loud!
your suppose to release a new system with a few games, and constant support each month.
not release it with a few games then release nothing for 3 months!
as for the tech demo it looked pretty cool.
im really disappointed there not doing this as there next game, we really have not had the potential of that genre seen yet.
throughout the whole of binary domain i kept saying oh how cool would this be if QD made it.
this game would be so much better if it had a proper story, it really needs QD.
then they come out with a tech demo, release my biggest hopes and dreams.
then say oh sorry this is not our next game.
🙁

Aside from maybe the NES I've never been as impressed with a video game system the first time I used it as I have been with the Vita. It's possibly the best product Sony has ever put out there.

There is still nothing about the Vita which I find appealing. None of the titles interest me other than Uncharted, but it's not worth buying the console just for that – and I see no future titles which warrant buying the console as of yet.
None of the new touch features interest me either, infact that is a big drawback for me, I know it's the big thing nowadaysto poke about with technology, but I just hate it. I preffer buttons anyday.
I do like how it has intergrated the PSN or SEN or whatever it is now. & That it has a second analogue stick, something the 3DS clearly wish they put on there console now XD
But overall, I just have yet to see any real appeal. at the moment I much preffer my PSP I'm currently playing Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, which is possibly one of the best uses of the system. and the fact that it can play PS1 games instantly makes it better than the Vita in my book. Maybe down the line when we get a new Metal Gear or Final Fantasy, I'll change my mind, but for now… I'm just not convinced.
First, let me start by saying I was one of those who stated that I had no interest in handhelds. That was until I happened to come across the demo Vita at my local Best Buy. Letâs just say I was insta-hooked. The damn thing drew me in like a fly to a carcass. My advice if you are not interested, stay the heck away from the vita at all costs because once it gets its tech hooks into you have hopelessly lost.
I have not been able to get one, hoping with some of my income tax refund i can get one after i pay most of my car off.
I thought the demo for KARA was pretty good but i would like to see more to see where they are going with it.
I sincerely hope Kara is the theme for their next game.
Pretty soon I'm going to have to get a Vita. It looks fun and the Uncharted game looks awesome!
@bikersaint It is very simple to delete software from your vita. It's just like the iPhone – hold your finger over the icon of the game/demo/app you want deleted and wait for a noticeable change in the screen. It will change to edit mode and you can delete anything by touching the bubble next to the selected icon. You can also rearrange your icons in any order while in this mode by holding your finger over an icon and then dragging it to the desired location, as well as edit your background screens to be animated colors or pictures. Go ahead and give it a try!
I don't have a iphone/smartphone, or any cell phone, so I would have never knew that.
But thanks to Zettai's earlier post above, I got it all figured out now.
But "Thank You" for responding to prior my S.O.S. moment, LOL

Dayum some of you need to calm down. I'm sure the PS4 can do both. It'll be plenty powerful and a true gamer's machine. If they want to branch out and reach for the social gamer to expand the base then so what? It's smart business and should not affect the core gamer. It's about getting that wonderful box into as many living rooms and man caves as possible. I have enough faith in Sony to not be worried. And if it is indeed a disaster, I will just keep the PS3. At 46 years old with 3 kids and my current rate of finishing games and 1.5 games per year, I currently own enough games to take me well beyond death. HAHA!
